Many posts are here complaining about the ar, how its a midrange weapon now and how its “the worst thing come to halo”, pretty sure that was the story for halo 5’s story but jokes aside.
Halo infinite has a new meta and how its mixed things up, now instead of the assault RIFLE being a close range weapon that does piss pour damage its now a pretty fun and strong weapon to start off with, yet why are people mad about that? is it because they’ve literally been using the same weapons since 2 over and over using it or is it because its new?I think its both, listen while i understand aiming is hard, its also necessary to do! You can’t just let most of the game do the work, there is a reason why sniper rifle modes are so popular, its because of how much fun it is to no scope and aim down enemies miles away, but the reason people are so upset is because they have to move to shoot, instead of the usual br bullet magnetism doing it for them.
I have spent too long playing mcc with the br and dmr being the top, its literally the best weapon in reach, strongest in any other because of its innate ability to kill through shields and because you dont really have to move/aim to much to get the kill.So here comes infinite, with the new meta of being on the move, not staying in one place sniping and getting all the kills because THAT WOULD BE TOO EASY, I have played mcc’s matchmaking and its literally crafted around “the skilled gameplay” where its nothing but headshots and getting the first kills, which is not fun. Being able to spawn and have a fighting chance against a squad is more fun than being gunned down by firing squad across the map! People who are complaining about the ar’s kill time are the same people who probably with their friends break down matches into a spawn camp because they literally sit where everyone spawns and headshots nonstop
So give the F*****ING people who actually enjoy halo for being a sandbox game with a many new tools and strong weapons a chance! Actually use the other weapons and stop acting like standing in a hidden spot to headshot people is actually fun, or you know go play some other game! Halo Infinite is a go back to roots, roots where the game was meant to be a multi weapon fun box where a lot of things were viable instead of clutching onto the same idea that “its not halo if i cant shoot someone across the map without them knowing where i am” slough fest, i had so much more fun with og reach on xbox because it knew what it was and not the carbon copy mechanics, weapons, and meta that is now in mcc because y’all complained about bloom so much it made everything too similar.
Don’t fix it if it ain’t broke it is stale, so lets mix it up! try new things ffs! Start playing, and stop expecting it to be a braindead match of halo 1 magnum only!
This is kind of my take on it. I’ve been playing Halo since CE, which means nothing but BR starts after Halo 2 made it so. And its worked so far, but the meta has become super stagnant over the years and not very friendly to new comers. I think changing up the meta will give this Halo some identity. Another Halo game with BR starts? We’ve been doing that for about 17 years now. Its time for something different.

its been to far long that its just br this br that, there is a reason why people called for auto slayer with mcc. its cuz everyone who didn’t love the br just became bored and left literally, the largest playerbase was 90k now its down to 6k because of how stale and same same the games are
Agreed. The Assault Rifle is actually a useful weapon now. We don’t have to worry about getting absolutely beamed by the BR every 5 seconds, we have a decent weapon that can actually give us a fighting chance against map weapons. The AR has always been a close to mid range weapon, but only now has it actually gotten the attention it deserves. It’s perfect

ok im just going to ask this, are you using the power weapons that can kill from long range upclose? are you using the sniper rifle at spitting distance? Are you using the weapons that have headshots and longer range, at longer range? or are you just saying TTK because you expect the weapon that has always been better in other halo games to come out on top while not adding the fact this new ar is actually strong now?

I think the AR makes it hard to kill someone while using the BR or commando. what’s the point of the scope if you always get knocked out of it with the AR’s accuracy and fast fire rate. Not only are you getting descoped, you are also getting pretty damaged thanks to the accuracy and damage buff that the AR has.

No, you are missing the point entirely Tonto. The AR is a starting weapon it shouldn’t have a faster TTK than say the Br or the hydra launcher Or the pulse carbine for that matter. With the way halo is designed the Ar and sidekick should be the lowest on the TTK scale I don’t include one shot kill weapons that’s not fair I am referring to others.

I agree, the AR was trash for too long. I want it to be a viable weapon but it shouldn’t be better than almost everything. I think its close to where it needs to be, just a bit too powerful. The other problem is the sidekick overshadowing everything else, pushing all TTKs lower. Even the BR is only decent now, sometimes I don’t even pick it up, kinda weird in a Halo game.

While i think the Ar should have a slower TTK, I have to disagree about the Descope its always been in halo that’s why there is no advantage to scoping and we can just use crosshair to aim and shoot instead. it was only H5 who stopped the descoping.

Exactly mate they just need to the TTK on these two slightly.

I think desope should still be there but the AR shouldn’t negate and outgun the BR at long range
You posted this ridiculously long post while missing the point entirely. Why does the AR need to be effective at range when you spawn with a PRECISION weapon for your secondary?
AR should be used for close range, sidekick should be used for medium range. It’s that simple.

Oh, no doubt that’s providing you hit your shots on the Br though. If you miss one then the AR should be able to win. The Br should be less forgiving with it being a precision weapon.

The sidekick isn’t a precision weapon. You don’t have a CE magnum anymore. The sidekick is a literal sidearm that’s a backup or clean up weapon. Not your main gun anymore. Maybe later they will bring back the CE pistol sniper but right now the sidekick shouldn’t change at all! It’s good where it’s at as a compliment to the AR

you want the magnum from halo ce again? have you NOT read the point of the post? that doing the same thing over and over is stale and is just going to kill a game that is supposed to be doing new things???
People have a problem with the AR because its completely brainless bullet hose that requires virtually nothing from the player to use it effectively. Hold the trigger and keep your giant reticle over a target, it not actually as fun or interesting as a fight with a utility weapon that requires precision.

The sidekicks TTK is too fast for a sidearm as you put it. It shouldn’t have a faster TTK than a BR at mid range.

What do you mean it isn’t a precision weapon? It not being a literal handcannon doesn’t mean it isn’t a precision weapon.

I’m not advocating for any buff to the existing pistol, it works very well for mid range encounters. Maybe you should read my post more carefully instead?

ok lemme ask you, how is using the ar and aiming braindead in this game? but not in other games??? im so confused by this, because you still have to aim and kill, but now its even more attention grabbing aiming as of the movement and literal grappling hook. but pointing and clicking while only occasionally moving to dodge enemy fire so good??? seriously, ive had people in reach sit a top a mountain peak sniping down and doing NOTHING ELSE the entire game yet running around with a gun and actually getting into firefights is braindead easy??? that is something i find so boring, if i wanted to play a point and click game id go play grim fandango
