also: it sounds weak - i like all the other changes to the noises of the game (sniper sounds odd but freaking cool, AR & DMR sound just beastly. hell, even the warthog sounds like it’s got a hemi) but the magnum.
yeah i wanted to have an awesome pistol as my secondary, but as soon as i unlocked firepower i swapped it out for the AR. it just doesnt feel like the hand cannon it should be.
Because they designed it terribly and now people like me can’t use it anymore because there’s barely a shred of a possibility of using it against anyone with a BR, DMR, or LR.
I don’t see why they had to nerf it from Reach in the first place. In my experience with it (it being my ToD), it was just fine, if not lacking ammunition.
And I’m talking about the TU Magnum. The pre-patch Magnum, while effective, wasn’t something I’d like to see in Halo 4 with the lack of bloom across the precision weapons.

I wish they would re-skin the DMR with the pistol skin so it will be like Halo CE.
TBH i havent used it that much in Halo 4, but the reach pistol was BA in comparison to halo 3 and odst at least. I will say the audio for the pistol is def. the weakest its been in any game (minus the silenced ones in ODST, but thats the point)
That’s if every one of its SIX OUT OF EIGHT shots lands and the large bloom doesn’t come into effect (in other words, firing at the target at point blank).

I never understood what people’s issues with the boltshot were until i continually got killed while using scattershot / shotgun against it. What’s that about
It’s better than the peashooter that was Halo 3’s pistol (considering before H3, I’d only played Halo CE, it was a hell of a come-down after the man-stopping pistol of doom in the original game!), and it’s a pretty good back-up weapon, since it’s largely accurate, and can fire pretty fast if you mash the trigger.
Indeed, for that reason, it’s often the best choice for dealing with groups in SWAT games - it’s more precise than the Battle Rifle, but you can get more shots out in quick succession than from the DMR.

You can’t justify its weakness with a comparison to a worse rendition, a pseudo-niche that is inherently given to weapons with little effectiveness, and a situation that doesn’t matter 9 times out of every 10 situations that you would be using it if you could.

Im telling ya, Just make it possible to change the skin on the DMR for a pistol skin.
Just make the side arm pistol black like the H2 pistol.
