I’ve been watching a lot of gameplay recently (mainly the E3 reveal) and have paid close attention to the assault rifle. I really like it. It looks great and the sound is killer. It sounds great. Surely the reload animation is a place holder, but I digress. Everything about it looks great. What do you guys think?

I agree, it seems great. 
By far looks to be my favourite Assault Rifle.
Hope that the AR has a bloom like in Reach.

My only real complaint is that it only has enough ammo to kill 1 and hurt the other.
It’s a primary weapon, but it has crappier range than a secondary weapon, and has just as much ammo per mag when compared to a secondary weapon.

Most of the Weapons do: the AR, Pistol and Storm Rifle all have Bloom.

Yeah, I had it in quotation marks because I recently learned the new technical name for the AR is the MA5D. If anyone doesn’t already know, there’s a Halo 4 logo next to your account name that shows info about stuff in the game like the weapons.
Needs more power
I have always loved the AR so I am really happy about its upgrade in H4.
The AR so far looks and sounds fantastic. Although, I wonder if the assualt carbine is going to be just as good, seeing as they haven’t revealed anything about it yet. Can it compare with the amazing AR?
All the cqb weapons look like they need a boost in damage and range - although only if auto-aim / aim-magnetism is massively reduced. cqb weapons & combat have always been lacking imo in Halo, cqb weapons need more damage and also more skill-gap to succeed with it. I think Halo has a lot of potential to improve the depth of game play with all the cqb “spray-and-pray” encounters.
I like how it looks, sounds, and kills crawlers. My complaint is that those MLG guys never used it in multiplayer, so I don’t really know how it works there. Cause they are too scared to try something other than precision weapons…

ive met your kind on the battlefield acts as though the br and dmr are the holiest of all things many are now dead i will accept your challenge may the better spartan win. >:)

In a well balanced game, the better player should win regardless of weapon limitations, because they’ve learned how to use their weapons. We better be able to burst this baby effectively.
