The new lead of business snd operation and how it will effect infinites store

So Elizebth Van Wyck is now the lead of business and operations dealing with external marketing and pr.

I wonder if this means we are going to see another wave of cosmetics attached to external products like chips ahoy and Pringles.

Am I completely wrong in my understanding of what’s going on here or am shooting straight with blanks?

It very much depends on the business structure.

Usually in business, no one person is responsible for anything, although large decisions may be driven from people higher up the chain.

For instance, you could have numerous employees at 343 that have suggested a progression system, how that looks, promotional ideas, all that have been overlooked or veto’d by one or more members of upper management that have the final say or are curating a particular vision of their own.

The vision may be influenced by key individuals goals, however, the direction is often led by a variety of factors. They will likely have pressure from Microsoft to achieve certain metrics which will likely shape their decisions too.

People talk about 343 like it is a single entity, making bad decisions. But realistically they are a large team of employees all with different passions, goals and beliefs for the direction of Halo.

We won’t know what changes occur until we start seeing them. The restructure may have come with lots of new goals presented by investors/shareholders/MS that guide the future of the game. It may be that their is very little influence from above (which I think is unlikely) so the changes with new people in place could be solely up to them. We just don’t know.

What we do know is that 343 had a recruitment drive, they’ve had a complete managerial restructure and this usually means that whoever is in control wants to completely shake up what is happening and wants large-scale change to current operations. They’re probably not very happy with Halo performance right now compared to what it could be. These companies are always looking for profit growth.

I’m interested in seeing what she’s going to do with infinites promotions.
God I hope season 2 of the halo tv show is better and we have some in game promotional content.

But, I want the marketing and promotions to be more in line with what a person playing halo will use.

A nail polish? Ok, expanding our community. Cool.
Work boots? Bit of a stretch, but ok.

Cookies, chips and mountain Dew? Now where talking.
I want more promotional content in areas that makes sense, but having some obscure stuff for the “broader audience” is ok too.

Just gimme more promo content, not just swaps and XP boosts.

she wont be improving the show

Didn’t say she would, just hoping that it was more bearable to watch and she would provide us with in game content related to the show

It sounds to me that they will focus more on the shop than actual game content. Its probably easier to update the shop then the actual game itself. I wouldnt be surprised if the Forge items will cost money :frowning:

I’ll tell you as I’ve told everyone. If they moonrise forge they’re shooting themselves in the foot. 343 has told everyone that they will be relying on players and “The Forge Council” to make and release maps for rotational playlists.

And tbh it’s much easier to work on shop and cosmetics then gameplay and bugs. Always expect shops to be quick and gameplay to be slow
