I just watched the new E3 trailer and it was everything we wanted. It truly feels like a sequel but retaining the old and perfectly mixing it with the new.
When the pelican pilot wipes the fog off the window and you see The Master Chief, my jaw dropped. When he powers his armor back up again it shows chief as a big powerful super soldier again. You saw the pelican pilot was desperate to get home he was all alone. Then he saw the Master Chief and it gave him hope it brought back that the master chief is a hero and everyone looks up to him. Then the references to Cortana and it shows that master chief didn’t have her with him. But at the end when you hear her talking about them being a team again it was such an emotional moment. Amazing job 343 well done. What did y’all think of the trailer? Do y’all think think it’s a direct sequel to Halo 4 kinda like a what Halo 5 was supposed to be. Because in the end of
Halo 4 chief was floating in space. And In the new trailer he immediately checks if Cortana is still in the chip. As if he just lost her.

My thoughts:
This has been confirmed to be a sequel to Halo 5, but also a spiritual reboot by 343. I assume this means the threat of the Created may be redefined or displaced by a larger threat, but who knows at this point. I think seeing the suit ask about an AI is just the general boot up and not chief specifically checking that, more of a way to remind fans that the Cortana we knew is no more as of now. As for the ending? I honestly don’t know what to make of it. General trailer stuff? If she talked in past tense about them then it could be from a confrontation but I don’t know what to make of that.
I was kinda underwhelmed by how little information it provided, but definitely LOVED the armor and Steve Down’s voice. I also lost my mind when I heard the old shield regeneration noise… that right there convinced me that we will be getting some old school Halo stuff in this new game and that is something I can get beyond excited about. The scene with the control room also got me hyped to finally have a new Halo game that actually has us fighting on the surface of a Halo ring.
I agree the trailer was amazing. They’ve already stated H5 takes place after H5.
