The new Halo 5 rocket launcher.

This is my opinion, but i personally like the original rocket launcher better then the new one. What do you guys think?

This has been discussed at length in many other threads, I think most agree with you. The SPNKR will still be in the game as a legendary weapon. Similar to the prophets bane and the energy sword.

I think a hybrid of the 2 would be cool.

I like having a regular rocket launcher and a legendary rocket launcher.

The new design is not great. Having a legendary SPNKR in multiplayer doesn’t change the fact that it is gone from campaign/co-op.

I guess my issue isn’t with the design itself and more to do with the fact that it is the design for the new ‘rocket launcher’. Its only because I have the old one to compare it to that the new version is so disappointing. I would have preferred it become an entirely new weapon(such as a ‘wire-guided’, lower damage missile) and simply retired the rockets. The general function of the rockets could have lived on in the incineration cannon(another powerful, high splash damage weapon).

If you are going to diverge so heavily from the established design then I would rather see new mechanics along with it. I would be similarly annoyed if in Reach Bungie had created the DMR model, but still called it a BR(with 2x scope, 36rd, 3rd burst). Its not as if the DMR design is terrible, but it would have been it still would have begged the question as to why change the design so heavily if its just going to perform more or less the same. Especially when the original profile was so distinct.

I’m fine with having the spnkr as a legendary weapon only

I will hope and pray that the SPNKr will be in the campaign, but it might not and that would be a major bummer.

This make me think back to halo 2 when the changed the pistol and it mad me so upset back then. After a few game I realized how stupid I was to be upset over the change. I see no reason to be upset with them changing it.

Essentially the same thing happened between Combat Evolved and Halo 2. The CE Assault Rifle was changed to better represent that it was functionally a SMG. Bungie kept the 60-round magazine size and even the same reticle design, but changed the gun’s overall appearance to the SMG we saw in Halos 2 and 3 (although decision may have been partially influenced by the addition of dual-wielding).

I personally don’t mind the new design, but I also don’t really see why it was necessary to change it. Then again, what was the point of redesigning the AR for Halo 2?

You so sure the legendary weapons wont be in the campaign? The gravity hammer was in halo 4 with really no reason at all.

Heck you might get the new RL for smaller engagements and maybe get the Spnkr for large vehicle engagements

Totally for got about that lol Yeah I remember a lot of complains with halo 2 now looking back and remembering. People thinking is was this perfect untouchable game are sorely mistaken lol

The new rocket launcher sucks. It doesn’t suit halo at all. You might as well call it a smaw
