The new weapon and vehicle spawns on most maps are terrible.
There are many examples but these are a few:
On Meltdown there are two fuel rod cannons that spawn almost instantly after an empty fuel rod gun is dropped. They spawn too quickly. On Exile, they removed the tank and replaced with a mantis. This removes all Scorpions in matchmaking. They also placed rocket hogs for each team. They also added a spartan laser. Adrift has too many snipers. Vortex has no wraith. They added 2 mantises and 2 gauss hogs and one banshee. On Longbow, there is:a Gauss Hog at each team spawn, a Banshee at each team spawn , 4x Shade turrets at the center fort on the ridge an,Overshield in center cave, and a Beam rifle and Rocket launcher at each team spawn
The personal ordnance with all the weapon spawns places too many power weapons on the maps.
On most of Halo 4’s maps, 343 Industries has added too many vehicles and too many weapons. There needs to be fewer weapon spawns and some need to respawn slower or they need to change/remove personal ordnance.
I love the vehicle spawns for the most part (as in the new locations/different vehicles and such), but the massive amounts of power weapons are more unbearable than they used to be, when another random dude can get a new sniper or fuel rod every minute or so.
If they just changed it back to its 3 minute timer, and, what was it, three, or four minutes for vehicles? Then it would be perfect.
for the love of all that is good in the world CHANGE THE MAPS BACK 343.
I despise every insanely fast weapon and vehicle spawn. I am borderline unable to function in BTB with all the bullcrap on these maps.
What the HELL was wrong with them before?! Who redesigned everything because it is atrocious.
SAWS/snipers/OS/rockets/splasers/banshees/mantises/rocket hogs/gauss hogs/ghosts are EVERWHERE, ALL THE FREAKIN TIME. In addition to the personal ordinance.
NO other Halo game was like this. NEVER. At most a couple vehicles and power weapons on a map WITHOUT personal ordinance were on a map at any given time in past games.
Its utter MADNESS and I won’t stand for it. One step forward with the weapons update i would like to thank 343 for but two steps back with the horrible maps redesign. What good is the weapon balancing if there are no maps I want to play on?
I do not understand why they removed Scorpions completely from MM. It’s like they really want us to try out their new vehicle the Mantis! We have 343… it’s a great vehicle but I’d like some good ol’ tank.
The new spawns are a welcome change. They spawn on time, and in the same spot. You might have to watch the clock a little bit to make sure you are in the right area when the spawns happen.
I do think that the personal ordnance needs to be adjusted to reflect the fact that weapons spawn more regularly.

This.
And the timer length for the static drops needs to be adjusted. One SAW every 3 or 4 minutes is good enough. No need for a SAW every 100 seconds.

Yeah. We finally got static spawns, instead of power weapons spawning in random places, which is great. It’s just that it happens WAY too often, and that the indicators don’t help, because now there’s no way they could ever go unnoticed by the less-observant players.
Like a lot of things 343 does, it would be great IF they did it right, it’s just that, y’know, they didn’t.
I’m pretty satisfied with the new weapon spawns, however, I have a problem with that Sniper on Adrift. Personally, that should’ve been the shotgun, since one side has the Scattershot, like “Why not have a shotgun too?”. Its a 4v4 enclosed CQC map, if you know what I mean. Also, with regards to the Scorpion being replaced with the Mantis on Exile…IMO, that just made the map worse. I can deal with the Gauss Hog, since im always the one blowing it up, but now with a Mantis. That’s just too much to handle. Opinions may differ on that.

I agree with everything you said. I just played a couple of BTB Slayer games (Shatter and MeltDown) after the TU. The number of power weapons (Rockets, Lasers, Fuel Rod, Incinerator, Snipers, Beam Rifle, OP Saw etc.) on the maps was too much and too frequent. Also having the power weapons re-spawn in the same place just encourages people to camp near them and snipe / nuke / blow you up as approach. The personal weapons of DMR / BR / LR / AR don’t really do anything facing a Fuel Rod cannon.
Both maps felt very unbalanced to me. I want to see what Ragnorak, LongBow and Exile are like before I make a decision to abandon Halo 4 multiplayer and move on to a new franchise.
While I do not agree with most of what the OP has stated. I will say that the weapon spawns on ‘Solace’ need some serious re-tweeking. While I’m okay with having a fuel rod gun spawn on the map (the Incineration Cannon was fine), I completely object with the large quantity of ammunition that spawns with it (the initial load plus 15 extra shells).
That is a stupid amount of ammunition for a one hit kill weapon.
I found myself relentlessly abusing it while playing a round of Regicide. When I was finally defeated I found myself respawning next to a new fuel rod gun. Needless to say it was an easy victory for me, and I would be royally pissed if I found myself on the opposite side of such trash.
REMOVE the fuel rod gun or limit it to only carry FIVE SHELLS MAXIMUM.

This is pretty much the problem. With the ordnance it makes some match pretty much a big power weapon fight. The new weapon spawns are there with timing strategy in mind, but with personal ordnance this kinda breaks that flow. Since you don’t really have to fight for the weapons on the map or you can get it easily since you have already have a power weapon/power up from a weapon drop. I haven’t had a problem with the spawns them selves though. I think things would flow and make better sense if they took out PO.
