The new halo 4 armory?

Hello, I’m hear to share my armory ideas and hear some of yours.

First things first How Do We Get Our Armor?

Well for unlocking/earning the armor I think that we should return to having to do challenges, achievements, and ranking up. The system for unlocking armor in Reach was horrible in my opinion. But, that’s for another discussion. If we do end up keeping the credit system I would enjoy earning credits separate from experience, like Call of Duty: Black Ops for example with how they bought their items.( I think they were separate, haven’t played in a long time) Or we could have a combination of both, which seems best IMO.

The Armory

Now onto the actual armor/selections we’ll be dealing with. The Armory in Reach was massive and in some parts un-needed. For example, an attachment on Kat’s helmet looks exactly the same as the other only a side is more rounded. Attachments like these are unnecessary. I would like a mixture of the Halo 3 armor look, with the Reach’s massive selection, and an overlay of the Halo 4 engine graphics.

New Armor Ideas

The New Armory should include the classics such as Mark V and VI, the popular looks from both 3 and Reach, and maybe a few new additions? I would love to see a forerunner kinda-like design armor considering the new trilogy will be surrounding around them.

Side Note: What rare armors would you like to appear/make a return? I would like to see the GRD helmet upgraded ( Limited to the employees of 343i and <mark>maybe</mark> people awarded it). Post Below! :slight_smile:

i feel like you should unlock certain armor for doing certan things,

like for example, getting X number of wheelman medals will earn you the pilot helm

getting X number of Headshots with sniper grants you the (lolname) GHNGHIR helm

ect…

I kinda think that we should stick with the credit system… but rather I don’t like how you have to be a certain rank to be able to purchase something… I kinda think that takes away some of the creativity and uniqueness players want… Idk… just my kind of opinion…

That’s what I meant by challenges, couldn’t think of the word “medals” at the time :slight_smile:

i agree with your idea, because of how long it takes to level up in reach, i think the armory system should have been based on something else. which is why i think halo 4 should be based on unlocking achievements like it was in halo 3. However i did like unlocking armor for ranking up, i’m hoping 343i changes the whole ranking up and leveling up system, from reach’s system.

fantastic, but will it promote boosting?

:confused: maybe a party size limit so your friends are always on your own team. (but then that the limit will make people rage like mad so, maybe no)

it will promote boosting if it’s achievement/medal based. It should stick to the cR system. Someone grinding for credits isn’t half as annoying as someone who just has a ton of friends to easily play a couple games and earn armor they don’t deserve. At least with the cR system. It’s time played that matters. If they separate cR and exp with armor being unlocked with cR rank. exp can take a backseat till I get all the armor unlocked.

Exactly, thank you… I admit boosting skipped my mind but ranking is not what’s important in matchmaking as much as the armor unlocks are so we not separate them? Let people get what they want while they leave ranking for their competitive side.

no i think we should stick to the reach system for ranking up and getting armour, but have a true skill also ( yea ik srry off topic)

Boosting will always be a part of Halo, it happens in every online game.

I too like the Reach side of the Armoury, but with more choices and more ways to unlock, including ways for 343i to add Armour after release will keep me entertained for hours on end.

common guys! give us some armor ideas.

I say we have a seperate cR and Ranking system. We get cR for kills like we do in Reach, but rank up seperately, like Black Ops.

I would like to see ALL armour from Reach AND Halo 3 return alongside multiple new armours. GRD i would like to see as an unlock, but extremely hard to get.

How to unlock certain armours in Halo 4:

GRD -
Reach Inheritor
Finish Legendary Solo
Kill Two people with one sniper bullet (Campaign or Multiplayer)
Earn 10 Killtacular medals within one multiplayer game
Complete an invasion game with your team winning, in 5 minutes or less

Mark V -
Finish the Campaign on Normal, Heroic AND Legendary
Get 10 kills with the Assault Rifle within 1 Minute

Mark VI -
(Same as Mark V)

(This is assuming Invasion will return and cR ranks will exist and be the same as Reach’s.)
All this is just ideas made up on the spot.
