The New Gameplay...

I thought this was interesting in the vidoc…

Josh mentions the new threat, which is much worse than anything Chief has ever faced, and Kiki then says this brings an opportunity for new gameplay.

And it looks like we’ll be able to do a lot more with movement and dealing damage to deal with this new threat, which is also harder than before, which I think is awesome, as it intensifies both sides, and looks like it will create more complex, intense gameplay. I’ve always wanted something like this ever since I first read the novels where the Spartans can run 35-40 mph, punch through steel doors, dodge missiles, and leap 5 meters into the air.

So, needless to say I’m very excited for this change, I just hope it’s implemented well in multiplayer, but I’m confident it will be. They mentioned progression, but I don’t think it’s going to be anything like CoD or BF. My guess is there’s only going to be 1-2 abilities you can have instead of 3-4 perks, killsteaks, and all kinds of weapon attachments. If there’s anything wrong with it, and it doesn’t work, I’m sure 343i would tweak it. They’ve shown that they care through the TU and all the other updates they let us know about.

You have proven to me that there are still people in the Halo community that are not revolted by changed and evolution. Thank you, and I agree with you.

Yes, and thanks. I think it’s a bit ridiculous that everyone wants the game to stay exactly as it was circa 2007. It’s still going to have a balanced sandbox, melee, grenades, no instant deaths (lucky kills), we can just do more now, which is exciting.

Reach implemented some of this wrong, like Armor Lock, had slower-paced gameplay with longer kill times, ways to escape, and more variation, which were its main issues. But I don’t think any of these will be this time around, and if so, not as significant.
