Why have the forums move to Discourse? It’s such a messy forum solution. The old forums were perfect and did everything necessary for a game community.
If anything, we’ve lost customisation of profiles and it’s now more difficult to navigate on a phone. I’ve no idea why there was a need to change software.
Perhaps the change wasn’t needed, but do keep in mind things are bound to change. I, for one, am grateful that the forums are eventually coming to the app, rather needing to use my phone browser.
I personally think the old forums felt extremely antiquated and were far from optimal. That said, the new forums aren’t much better so far, IMO. We traded one clunky interface for another…
Was it mentioned somewhere recently that the forums were coming to the new Waypoint app that I’ve missed?
Oh I guess I’m blessed I was invited into the app beta and have been using it since. It’s amazing just wait on it.
I was looking for the old forums… so they’re gone now? And our ranks etc with them?? 
Exactly, the time spent earning special badges and levelling up your forum ranks are gone. Not to mention the just awful post navigation within a thread. It lags so much.
Well, come to think of it, I guess I don’t actually know if forums are coming to the app. I assume they will be, considering the App appearance is nearly identical to that of this website.
I really shouldn’t speak like I know what I’m talking about though.
It would be good if they did, but this forum is running on the Discourse platform. I would have thought it would be easier and more cost effective to stick with an in-house solution otherwise they effectively have to recreate the Discourse software within the app, or make a mobile app version from scratch anyway.
So with all that in mind, I don’t actually think they will.
