So, I’ve come back from a 6 month hiatus from Halo 5 and I notice the FFA ranking system has changed and some aspects of it I like and think it’s better for the common good and some I think can be detrimental so I’m going to lay out the parts I don’t and like about this change
- Before it was the top 3 that won got an ELO boost and everyone below got ELO taken away and ranks were not taken in to account the new changes made it so that if you wanted to get an ELO boost up you had to beat someone who was above your rank, and if you got beat by someone below your rank you most likely got ranked down.
- While this is better for lower ranks because they lose less ELO if they get screwed and place w a champion at as a gold rank. But a lot of the time if you are trying to move up as a Diamond or a high Platinum you end up hitting a wall because the only people above are either high onyx’s or champions and coming in 2nd or 3rd will not get you anywhere if you don’t beat the champion or high onyx ahead of u.
- Also it is common for someone to leave games in FFA I have constantly been in 5 man games and even if You were to win these games the Amount of ELO You get is cut in half because one guy rage quitted or lagged out of the game and it is unfair to everyone else in the lobby and makes it impossible for them to move up.
- what I think should be removed is the need to beat someone ahead of you and have it be that if you place within the top 2 in a lobby that is primarily ranked below you u get ELO and if you finish in the top 3 in a party that is evenly or a higher ranked than you u get an ELO boost to fix the FFA ranking system.
