There’s always something in this game that people find for easy wins. It seems as if this game requires less and less skill each time
Beats having all the leaders the same, though that would help counter this.
It is counterable
Its not effectively counterable at the highest level of play. It needs to be nerefed. But in such a way that keeps it good. My proposal is that the hero takes damage while inside the mech while the mech takes damage. And the mech y ability needs a longer cooldown
Its definitely counter able at the highest level of play (top Champion) but i can only speak for 1v1. I’m not sure what its like facing three Jeromes but i never really though it was much different for team play than 1v1. If i can beat top level Jerome players 1v1 then 3 top level Forges could beat 3 Top level Jeromes.

This. Very easy to counter.
Try countering arbiter or decimus rushes lol. Banished are still dominate in this game.

Easy to counter it when noobs do it yes
why not make jeromes mantis a tech 2 upgrade, this would solve his pesky rush cheese play.
jeromes 2nd hero upgrade is nothing more than a radious bonus on his aura increase and the minor hero stat buffs.
swapping the 1st.and 2nd upgrade would fix his overpowered hero, but also nerf his 2nd leaderpoint passive buff under 40 pop. remove about half and move it to the 2nd teir unlock, that way jackrabbits dont get out if control
bam problem solved

Ashulad 3 times, hes third on the ladder. Check my match history as proof. I havent played the rest of you, but he did the mantis strat each time
Jerome is looking to be very very broken. I’m not sure if it’s just the inspire mechanic or his Mantis, I mean, I’m convinced his Hero unit is broken and unbalanced. It needs a slight nerf (as well as Atriox Chosen, though the Chosen isn’t as abusable or cheesy, but still stronger than all the rest of the hero units, except Mantis Jerome).
I lost my last 2 games against The Gift |1| and I got completely and utterly stomped, it is the same powerlessness you felt against red line rabbits. Not saying the Mantis is unkillable but it is so easy to cheese and exploit, it’s like having two hero units.
Again, I don’t want to sound too dramatic, but his hero unit does need some addressing.

ashulad isnt a top player. he just has been grinding the leaderboard. theres a difference

Im not a top player either…if your argument is that the best players at this game are really hard to beat with Jerome that seems like a goofy argument, of course they are, they are hard to beat as anyone, its a lousy way to identify imbalance. Imbalance is when people i usually go toe-to-toe with just ROFL stomp me easy. So far the only leader that does that against me is Cutter. But no one seems to want to talk about his ODST’s. This Mantis stuff is not really that scary. but thats my opinion.

LOL, did a mic drop on him. Good points man.
And to add to that Arbiter with his enforcer rush, and Atriox with Atriox’s chosen are harder to deal with than Jerome. I play 2v2 mostly, that’s just what I’ve experienced. We’ve beaten most of the champion guys that have gone double Jerome on us. Arbiter/Jerome combo or any combo with Atriox is tougher to deal with IMO.
Everyone keeps saying the Jerome Mantis is counter-able, because yes it actually is but what plenty of you guys DON’T understand is that you don’t know what what you’re up against until the game actually starts.
How are we supposed to know to all go Atriox, Atriox, Arbiter (or any other decent counter against Jerome) in a 3 v. 3 when we go against 3 Jeromes? We don’t know what the enemy team has. What makes Jerome unfair is that he gets his mantis at Tech 1. He is the ONLY leader with an upgrade that essentially gives him a new unit to protect him. Sure say that Jerome’s Mantis is weak on defense, it still doesn’t defeat the fact that he comes out of the mantis unscratched who can go 1 vs. 1 against Cutter’s Jerome, Alice, or Douglas at the same tech level.
Balance means that I don’t have to assume that the other team is choosing ALL Commander Jerome so I choose a specific leader to defend myself wtf are you guys defending on this? All players should be able to choose their leaders of choice without having to say: “Oh yeah, Jerome is so strong go Atriox just incase 3 people go Hero Mantis rush since Anders/Forge is useless.” Come on now.

It might just be the sort of strat it takes a while for people to figure out good counters, like most rushes

Some leaders have less going for them, yes. But that’s how this game has always been. We’re just mentioning how we were able to counter J-ro rushes. It’s probably doable with any leader. But, yeah, if you’re playing as Anders you’ll probably have a hard time against any leader.
Mantis needs a 30% speed decrease

Leaders having less going for them has always been my frustration, because that statement right there shows how unbalance this game is from a competitive point of view, however I am reading everyone’s tactic for the Jerome Rushing. The cloaked grunts with engineers seems to be a pretty solid tactic especially since they cant even touch your grunts because their cloaked. I just hope that when time comes all leaders are somewhat viable at certain points in the game (Early, Mid-Game, Late-Game). I’m tired of assuming that enemy team is all going Jerome before the game starts so me and my friends have to go Arby or Atriox.
Also I’m sad that Great-Value Jerome, Alice and Douglas don’t inspire anyone but Team Omega and Commander Hero Jerome does lol
