"The new engine will let us respond to player feedback faster than any other Halo game before"

It’s difficult not to.

That’s we can do, really

Remember, that isn’t all of it, they still have April and Unyshek gave me some extra hopium

What did they say to do that?

The stuff thst we were told was coming in S2 (2 new maps, 3 new gamemodes, earnable credits, new BP) were only a “few” “highlights” of S2.

Don’t read into it too much Gus. 343 has done a great job of over hyping in the past, i wouldn’t recommend adding to that.

I think you’re setting yourself up for a fall with this hopium. Highlights are exactly what highlights are…basically the best bits that people want to see and know about. You don’t see brilliant shots, saves and goals missing from a football match highlights…so don’t be expecting anything other than minor tweaks and patches to be included alongside what has already been described as “highlights” otherwise you will be disappointed.

Edit: actually I think you’re hung up on the word “few” rather than “highlights”…so what I’m saying is that you shouldn’t expect there to me “more” highlights in addition to the few.

That doesn’t sound promising, but I guess they could’ve left out other notable changes and features.

I need whatever they can give me, if they let me down they lose a customer.
I don’t have anything to lose, in exchange for a little hope

They still have 5 years to fix the game to be faster than MCC, so the race is still on lol.

Still a bit ambitious to think that 343 can stick to that schedule and not delay seasons again.

Originally they said they are extending S1 so we can get everything ready for S2. However more recently language is pointing towards S3 for things like Coop and Forge.

I think they are treading on egg shells and they are too scared to commit.

How would you like your hooks? Tender please!

It has been dead since 343 took over

Hey, thought I should let you know that Season 2 will only have the content they cut from Season 1.
You’re not getting anything which is actually “new” until Season 3 mate.

Will Halo Infinite last until Season 3? Well, it has already lost 95% of the population (likely more now) and with the Halo TV series set to completely bomb Halo, 343i will likely receive even more hate (even though they haven’t had much to do with it). Regardless, Halo fans are incredibly unhappy and it’s justified.

I disagree. MCC was pretty damn hype honestly.

You nailed it. Speak the truth brother!

Still counts as new content, scummy as it is

I’m… honestly not sure that it does.

Halo 4 wasn’t the death of the Franchise. Halo 4 was actually Wayyyyyyy Better than Halo 5.

It wasn’t amazing but it was still fun. And Halo 5, despite it’s lackluster story, had great multiplayer.

Halo Infinite was the death of the franchise when they decided to spend half a decade making a Free to Play game with a Scammer Monetization system.

Halo 4 wasn’t perfect, but it was fun. Halo 5 had a mediocre campaign, but the multiplayer is fun.

Halo Infinite straight up is not fun. At all. Barely any maps. Weapon balance is horrendous. The Sandbox is mehhhhhh ASF. Vehicle physics and Handling feels like everything except the ghost and Wasp feel like they are either using moon gravity or handle like ten tons of concrete were added to them.

The Only thing I like about Infinite is the Flawless Assault rifle, Amazing BR, decent Sidekick, solid Sprint, and “ok” equipment system. Apart from that ? Not much else is enjoyable.

I’d say Halo 5 was the near-death.

Least played out of Halo MCC and Infinite.

Fun?

The game was only fun on lower difficulties if you were playing on solo, because playing solo on higher-difficulties resulted in a headache of frustration and disappointment.

Halo is a game series where the entire weapons sandbox can be used realistically in order to eliminate the enemy in some fashion. Every gun, weapon, grenade, and vehicle serves a purpose to give you an edge in some regard. But Halo 4 decided to throw that out of the window and onto a busy railroad.

Weapons carried hardly any ammunition, with energy weapons draining up to 20x faster than they did in the previous games. Take the Plasma Pistol for example. Pop a shot with the Plasma Pistol in Halo 4 and it drains 2% of your battery. Meanwhile in LITERALLY every other game beforehand it took 10 shots to drain 1%. ADD ON TOP OF THAT how fast the Plasma Pistol drained its battery when performing a charge shot AND how fast the battery drained when holding the charge shot, and the Plasma Pistol became a weapon you use basically twice before immediately having to drop it and find another gun.

Again, it wasn’t just the Plasma Pistol

  • The Storm Rifle was a much more weaker rendition of the Plasma Rifle. I would even argue it to be worse than Reach’s Plasma Repeater.
  • The Boltshot was only useful at eliminating crawlers as the secondary shotgun blast attack it provided was only useful on lower difficulties or in multiplayer.
  • The Suppressor made the Halo 3 SMG look like a power-weapon in comparison to how much ammunition and damage you put out.
  • The Pulse Grenade was a terrible area-denial tool.
  • The Sticky Detonator was interesting somewhat, but it was a weaker explosive alternative to the Grenade Launcher.
  • The Rail Gun was basically just the Spartan Laser but weaker and you had to reload after every shot.

Lets talk about the enemies! Halo 2 and Halo Reach have the most diverse cast of Covenant enemies we can fight.

  • Grunts
  • Jackals
  • Skirmishers
  • Drones
  • Engineers
  • Elites
  • Brutes
  • Hunters

Halo 4 decided that we will be stuck with just the base 4 we had in Halo CE. And then they decided to make them unappealing. And no I am not just talking how the art style change altered them to be abominations instead of aliens.

It used to be that only the Jackal Majors and Grunt Majors could hold a charge-shot with the Plasma Pistol. But not anymore. If the enemy is holding a Plasma Pistol, they can hold a charge shot. And not just that, they now hold it indefinitely until they fire it. So when you now face off against 3 grunts, a Jackal, and an Elite with a Covenant Carbine; the majority of the shots coming at you will instantly remove your shields. PLUS the weapon tracking of the Plasma Pistol Charged Shot and the Needler were turned waaaaaaay up !!

And then lets discuss the boring Prometheans.

  • Crawlers are just grunts that can scale walls and are mostly a nuisance… except for the Crawler Snipes that you can hardly tell are that variant until they scope in on you with the Binary Rifle.

  • Watchers are some of the worst because of the fact that they can make more Crawlers, erect a shield to protect the target, throw grenades at you, spawn super turrets, and they can revive fallen Knights. Every accuracy gun takes 6 shots to kill them, no matter what you do.

  • Knights are god awful in Halo 4 and were thankfully updated in Halo 5 to be something better to fight. Because as they were in Halo 4; it was more than a problem. You couldn’t fight toe-to-toe with them on higher difficulties; what with their Hard-Light Machete and sometimes their power weapon of a Scatter Shot or Incineration Cannot being a death sentence. Your only reliable option was shooting them from afar with an accuracy weapon. AND EVEN THEN, they can flash-blitz to you for a nearly-undodgeable melee strike or if you break their shields; they will just teleport somewhere else. AND THANKS TO HOW SHIELDS WORK IN HALO 4, they have full shields by the time they reappear due to the stupid fast recharge no matter WHAT difficulty you play on! So now you wasted a magazine of ammunition, which you carry less of in Halo 4 than in any other game, and now you have to burn through it AGAIN because of that BS teleport.

Halo 4 is not fun.

Halo 4 is a game where if you aren’t carrying a precision weapon and moving slowly and methodically like you were some average guy who ISN’T wearing a suit of powered sci-fi armor and known for being a one-man army described as “The power of a nuclear strike with the precision of a scalpel”.

Halo is a game where the PvE experience is “you are the billy badass, here is a gun, now go make the enemy cry.” Instead Halo 4 is “Ok, I gotta be very-very quiet. I don’t wanna screw this up. One wrong move and I am mashed potatoes dipped in AB+ gravy.”

And then we have the multiplayer experience.

Spartan-Ops was a joke because it was just Firefight, but with objectives tied to it and repeat locales.

Regular PvP was a joke because it wasn’t Halo. It was Call of Halo: Spartan Warfare, with the loadouts that drove players away faster than any other game in the franchise. People say that Halo Infinite is losing players fast on steam, but at least Halo Infinite is still pulling high population numbers after 5 months. Meanwhile Halo 4 went from 410,000 players at launch to around 75,000 players in just 5 months.
Bear in mind, Halo 4 reportedly sold 7-Million copies and never even got beyond half-a-million dedicated players.

To put simply.
Halo 4 was the worst in the franchise when it came to gameplay.
The main story it told was pretty well done, though it loses marks for introducing a half-dozen retcons that were unnecessary and just exist so that Frank O’Connor could make the narrative he wrote work IN SPITE of established lore since 2001.
The enemies weren’t fun to fight due to a combination of weapons sandbox nerfs, poorly designed enemies, and redesigned combat mechanics that were perfectly fine to begin with.
The multiplayer was god-awful and only lost players, with only one notable rise in players coming Holiday of 2012; though to call it a rise is a fallacy since all it did was make the decline on the chart become a horizontal line for about half a month.

Halo 5 just perpetuated the terrible art redesign, and then made the mistake of having Brian Reed as the Lead Writer & Narrative Director of the Franchise.
Multiplayer wise Halo 5 actually bothered to listen to criticisms provided from Halo 4.

Is Halo Infinite perfect?
No.
Will it be something like Fallout New Vegas, where it was crap at launch but a dedicated set up fixes and updates make it a legendary title that actually make people happy and not utterly disappointed?
Yes.

TL;DR -
