And do you think it’s dead because it declines in twitch viewership?
Twitch numbers for Halo are meaningless. I think most people would rather be the one playing Halo instead of watching others play it.

I agree. Microsoft needs to give Halo to a different studio, one that’s competent enough. 343 is probably the worst AAA developer of all time.

If I recall correctly they said similar things about Halo 4 and Halo 5 respectively. But I’m this “new” engine is totally different, there won’t be any “technical limitations” preventing them from adding something as fundamental as playlists right?

I’m a white Male, and I’m not super upset by any changes to the characters that were made to give the show some differences to the game universe. I kind of expected it tbh. A big difference between us is I don’t waste my life sitting around worrying about crazy hate group theories like replacing white males.
So now the question is whether you should be muted it ignored I think…

True. But with how much they meddle in the designs of games that results in them failing, they might as well be a developer.

I feel like freon the context of some things, they have been able to respond really quickly. Like the challenge updates early in the release window and other work on challenges, and the store pricing adjustments.
But then things like the net code issue and BTB matchmaking seems to be in a pretty wonky situation…
So I don’t know, I’m still mixed on the new engine and systems. The game engine itself seems to deliver a fun experience, but the wrappings around it to deliver it to players seems cursed…

There are actually quite a few AAA developers these days that aren’t very good.
They might be saying they have a lot of bad AAA developers, or they could just be talking about how their decisions are affecting development negatively.
I’d say it’s more that they don’t want to change the challenges too much.
Making people have to play longer, even at the cost of fun, seems to be their point.
The longer people play like that, the more likely they’ll buy challenge swaps, XP boosts, shop items, etc.

Having 8 or 9 seasons before their third Christmas vacation seems ambitious.

I think they extended S1 because they knew they were gonna get backlash. They extended S1 so they had time to begin implementing changes

Honestly I wouldn’t hold your breath for season 2. Basic menu bugs are still there from first round of the Beta.
Season 2 isn’t going to change anything (well not enough) I’m afraid.
The two maps will add some excitement right? For a day or 2.

More like a week, but yeah, season 2’s somewhat of a coin toss from my view.
It could change enough or not, but going by the lack of good shop and challenge changes, and by what they’ve said is going to be in season 2, I’d say it’s not looking good.
Yeah fair. I’ve grown pessimistic. But I am drawing on a long history of missed opportunities.
