Since it has been confirmed that Elites are being replaced in Halo 4’s mulitiplayer system I’ve often been thinking what 343i is replacing them with. I keep coming back to the same conclusion that they’re replacing Elites with Forerunners. I did past the idea of the Promethean Knight taking the Elites spot but I can’t imagine them sticking those big creatures in for multiplayer for else but Invasion, if they brought Invasion back of course. Forerunners are the only thing I can come up with. Do you guys have any thoughts on the Elite’s replacements?
Brutes or Elites are the only things I can see. A Promethean knight would be stupid, in my opinion. They’re too big and such a different shape than humans.
I recall hearing in either a bulletin, or a interview, that promethean knights are not playable.
And they never said that elites are being replaced. They said that they are just simply out of multiplayer. As in: we likely wont be seeing replacements.
So in short: no elites. Spartans only. Final destination.

I’m certain back at E3, either in an interview with Gamespot or IGN, Frankie mentioned that Elites are being replaced. Idk it has been a while but I’m sure I heard they were being replaced.
Maybe an unrevealed Promethean? I remember Frankie saying that there would be something to scratch that itch, so there has to be something.

Yes! That’s what he said thank you. I had trouble remembering exactly what he said. But yes that could be the case as well because the Halo 4 trailer from E3 after the demo, if you pause at certain parts there are creatures that you can see that have NOT been revealed.

This. I also can’t come up with a link, but when 343i was talking about the Elites not being in multiplayer, I got the impression that they were replacing them with something else
Maybe “Confirmed” Was the wrong word. But he did say they would scratch the itch for Elites being absent in multiplayer in Halo 4 so I would think that means a new cool replacement.
They said that Infinity will only focus on your Spartan career. I think he meant that we’ll maybe see friendly Elites in Spartan Ops.
I really don’t understand why elites are being removed.
If anything, they should only ADD more to the playable roster.
I.E; Brutes, Flood Combat forms, and some form of Promethean(Knight?)

I do think we’ll see friendly Elites as well because these Covenant are renegades/rebels of Elites that hate humans so I’m sure there are still Elites that are on the humans side as well.

Well idk if Invasion will even return because they haven’t mentioned it at all so far and Invasion was multiplayer, just a new objective game type that was more complex than most is all.

I believe he was referring to Invasion.

Invasion was in multiplayer though. And they haven’t even said if Invasion is coming back or not.
Forerunners would be nice to play as, yet at the same time, not appropriate. It just wouldn’t seem right to kill them or use them to kill something else.
