The new Decimator armor sets looks alot like-

Evening folks!

As i was gonna say, i’ve closely looked at the new Decimator set coming with the February update. The more i looked, the more it felt familiar and that’s when i looked up the Basic armor you get from start in Reach.

The structure of the helmet alone looks so spot on from the Mark V .

__Am i the only one to see the helmets are very similar? Torso is a bit different (understandable since we got Noble) but the belt/Codpiece looks like it was torn off from one of the original S-IIIs.

Yes the Decimator armor set is greatly inspired by Mark V but it isn’t it. Hopefully we see the Mark V in a future update.

Not a fan of how Decimator looks but the helmet does bear some resemblance to the Mark V (B)

Sure does, was my first thought as well. The helmet is a little goofy with the weird shaped visor, but I can’t wait to put that on and take it for a spin.

Honestly it looks like they made bumps into the visor, which would be an extremely poor artist decision because they just had visor lines that were subtle in the original helmet, not bumps.

Its inspired to look like the Mk VII which in turn looked similar to the Mk V

Agreed. It’s one of several of 343i’s artistic decisions that I just can’t wrap my head around. Like, how on earth do they think the silly bumps on certain visors actually look good?

This right here. And that Seeker helmet. My god how was that one approved?!

Visor looks a little funky but otherwise I love it already.

Yeah, the helmet really resembles it, especially the visor. I don’t really like the bumps though, but I might be able overlook it when/if I get it myself. It might be my next goal req, time to save up points again!

Edit: I saw that it was in the new colors preview, but looking again I see that with a different visor the bumps aren’t as noticeable and it actually looks pretty darn good. Colors preview

Defender and war master. Both good looking helmets amongst the freak show, ruined by the faces on the visor. Stop it 343, just stop it.

The way the chest is reminds me of the H2 anniversary Elite chests for some reason.
