ok the descriptions i saw werent very… descriptive. Anyone have an idea of what theyre for? all I can tell is that the SMG has a different scope but i dont know for the rest.
Pretty sure they are just new sights. ACOG: Advanced Combat Optical Gunsights. But since Halo takes places some 500 years in the future, I think they thought it would be clever to just drop the Advanced and call them COG now.
It looks like the Halo 4 BR scope.

Thats what I was thinking also since it is on the SMG it has to be maximum of 3x zoom because the 4x zoom scope isn’t on the SMG.

It could be that scope with a Large Rectangular Sight and would play just like the Sentinel Scope.
I mean, projection sights are about 1.2x to 1.5x zoom, recon sights are 2x, longshot is 3x, sentinel is 4x and can go up to 6x, hybrid sights I think is 2x.
This COG sight i looks like the sight of the BR from H4 so it’s same to assume it’ll be another 2x but I may be wrong

I thought they would increase the effective range of the weapon, but I may be wrong here…
I thought acog meant red dot sight.
But apparently its like night vision without batteries.
But what that means for a halo gun…
Probably acog considering we’re getting a magnum with iron sights
