everything about the little 10 second segment on conan seemed awesome… the only thing that i was disappointed by were the BR sound effects. it sounds like a muffled airsoft gun! unless there are silencers on H4 or it’s some ability… then forget everything i just wrote.
They had to tone it downs so they could hear his voice.
I wouldn’t worry about it

ooo ok i thought that was a possibility. thanks for the response
Yes, don’t worry. They couldn’t let the awesome sound of a Battle Rifle drown out Conans voice, so they turned it down.
I don’t really ‘like’ the BR in Halo 4. Don’t get me wrong, I don’t dislike the BR either it’s just that the BR from Halo 3 just seemed better. The visual upgrades make the BR seem dull and I prefer the black version from Halo 3. I also don’t like the new sound of the BR but hopefully they toned down the sound in the recent video so that we could hear what the presenters were saying - otherwise I won’t be happy.

I like the L.E.D screen on it. It actually feels futuristic. I agree that it should be fully black, but so far I like the Halo 4 one. I mean come on… it has hitscan.
I like Halo 4’s look. It looks more UNSC like, and less “Just black gun” like. They took time to put different types of metals and overall details in the gun. It also looks more futuristic.
The sound will be better. Remember that first Vidoc/video and they had a few seconds of the gameplay, the BR sounded much better. I’m sure this was just to let Conan sound louder. The real gun will sound much better I bet

the only issue I have is that their following more of Reach’s more gritty art-style rather than Halo 3’s art style, don’t get me wrong its not bad, but it its quite bothersome.

Yeah I can understand why you think that but I preferred the older look. The BR was so great for just being an amazing gun, not because it looked nice. The simplicity made the gun seem real and it slotted in perfectly will Halo 2’s style. The added effects make the BR seem more ‘comic like’ more fictional and less functional. But I can understand why people like the new additions. So long as it plays like the BR and sounds like the BR; then it will feel awesome!

Which is kinda weird since the AR looks like the halo 3 version.
IMO, The BR looked dumb, but I’ve gotten used to it. I’m thinking about buying H3 to play it.

buy Halo 2, the BR was even better back then

o.0 you read my mind!
They had to lower the BR’s audio, otherwise all we would have heard was “Oh im Sorry Conan, were you trying to make sound effects? I couldnt hear you over the sound of my AWESOME”
I think they will change the sound for it considerably by the time halo 4 ships anyway.

The sounds now are good, but they need to change the BR to a 4-shot kill. And they could also change the DMR to a 4 shot kill… =)
