So…I have a feeling that Cortana foreshadowing in Halo 4 (they will pair you with another AI, maybe even another Cortana model if Halsey let’s them) and the hint about AIs being tools (I supplied the tools to maintain that efficiency -while giving him cortana-) will come to fruition in Halo infinite. And yes I truly believe it will be another Cortana model built from one of Halsey spare cloned brains
But there is also another piece of foreshadowing in halo 4 that I think might come true.
Cortana muses she could be able to be recompiled by re creating the conditions of her creation. Now of course we know Rampancy has been “cured” through access to the Domain do she does not need that anymore… But if Cortana ever disconnected herself from it she would likely be in the same situation as she was at the end of halo 4…so that said if cortana was to betray the warden and re align herself with John the new AI could likely sacrifice herself or merge with the original Cortana to fulfill that foreshadowing…

hmmm that is very interesting but I cant see things going back to the way things were
There was mention that Halsey had more than one potential flash clone brain candidate suitable for Cognitive Impression Modeling. Maybe through the games story, she admits that to Chief, thus initiating a return to Reach, and Castle base to retrieve said candidates to create a new Cortana to help aid the Chief. Maybe during those events, the Chief stumbles across a Mk VI variant, or even a Mk VII variant of Mjolnir, and suits up.
Seems like an easy cop out for explaining Chief appearance change, but sometimes simple is best.
Considering the classic feel and “soft reboot” theme they seem to be shooting for, I definitely would not be surprised at all to see it be Cortana 2.0.
I still feel like that was just to give the fan base chills but if I were to be writing the story, i would have chief paired with an entirely new ai and there’d be this whole secondary story arc of him trying to get use to the new ai while the ai is trying to prove themself to him only for cortana to find out about the new ai later and become widely jealous and betrayed causing her to act less sympathetic for chief and become more violent

Sure, but the foreshadow would be kinda thrown out of the window and come on can you imagine the insane jealous fir Cortana could have “john…she…Is…NOT…ME”
