I have to say, Halo infinite has a great foundation for what the game is. Sure the current ire is the customization, but let’s be real, you don’t play the customization. It’s flair. It makes you feel like you look cool. However if the game doesn’t play well, or has glaring flaws, not amount of cool customization/progression will keep people enjoying/playing it.
I’ve been frustrated about aim assist, how certain guns function, map design, vehicle integrity/handling etc. However the last couple days, my friends and I have noticed how bad the lag has been. Melees that don’t count (or do), shot registration, and also, beyond how I feel hardware very much affects Aim Assist, I’ve come to the conclusion, the net code very much does.
Today, my friend said the following while we were playing: “This is the only Halo game I’ve played where lag doesn’t only make it harder to kill someone, but you actually aim worse”, to which his brother said “yeah, In Halo 3, you could shoot someone, maybe it wouldn’t count, but you could stay on target”.
The net code here is pretty good awful. I see people jittering around constantly. When I’ve watched clips for friends, I’ve seen the same.
I know there’s a laundry list of concerns from the community, but if the very base fundamentals in the game don’t work well or at the very least, as I’ve heard many times don’t feel good, then people will get frustrated and leave. I have to say, I really love the core of this game. It’s just the little things. They all cause one large issue.
Inconsistency
Halo Infinite either is, or Feels very inconsistent, and I believe at the core of it all, is the poorly optimized net code.
343, please make this a priority to work on.
