I’ve enjoyed Halo for as long as I can remember. From lan parties in high school, to using the intranet in my college dorm to connect with buddies, to playing Reach with my brothers to bear my father passing away.
When I joined Halo Waypoint a couple of months back I really thought I had found a community of people that were united in my love of this great series. People who would look at the next entry and not necessarily dismiss its shortcomings, but appreciate an evolution and offer intelligent critique and engage in great debates about things that can be improved.
Its really disappointing the amount of negativity that is encountered here on a daily basis. There are very infrequently threads about what this game has done right and people continually lament the same things. I wonder whether people get tired of hearing about the same things over and over and over.
Its a shame that I thought I’d be joining a community of people who can appreciate the good this game has, instead all I see is the same things being spammed consistently. If people hate the game so much, why even come to discuss it on the Halo forums?
It used to be almost pure positivity back in Halo 2 or 3 days. But that’s what happens when another company takes the franchise you love, and completely changes it. Especially when 90% of the masses aren’t enjoying it. If 343i doesn’t get feedback that people don’t like it, then they’ll just keep making the same game over and over again. If a consumer doesn’t like the product, they complain. The company takes the feedback and improves the game. Make sense?

Don’t lie.
The vitriol spat for every halo game is incredible.I was on the bungie forums back then and while it was moderated better people were still vile.

So why not have official threads devoted to specific complaints, that way the forums aren’t flood with the same thread AGAIN and AGAIN?

I’m not lying. I was around, too. You honestly think it was this bad? That’s hilarious. Yeah, there were some complaints, but barely any threads devoted to complaints. Go look at the Halo 3 forums around the time of release, and for a while after. They’re still up. It’s hard to find complaints.

Because this isn’t the “I love halo” forums. This is just the Halo forums. The forums are meant for discussion and feedback.

Haha no. Halo2Sucks.com would like to have a word with you.
OP - Same -Yoink-, different game. And we don’t make ‘official’ threads for everything because at some point, that would get excessive. Just ignore the threads you don’t want to read and respond to those you do. But we don’t need a thread complaining about people complaining because that makes you a complainer.
