The needler is OP as hell!!!

I’m either completely or mostly fine with every other weapon, but this gun annoys me.

It needs to be nerfed so a full clip of needles is needed to kill someone by needle explosion.

People will just say “it’s fine, just avoid it noob, lolololololol”.

But seriously, I can’t get used to it. If I pick one up I’m like “yep, 4 kills at least for me now muhahahahaahaha”.

Nerf this!

I think it depends on which one you are using. The base version’s needles don’t track well enough for it to be OP in my opinion. They are relatively easily dodged IF you can see them coming. If your on open field and its behind you though…good luck.

You basically have to be expecting it to reverse it. I’d be ok if it was that way with a power weapon like the Fuel Rod, but not the Needler.

If you start getting hit when your back is turned, tough, you’re dead! lol

It’s OP as hell!

A Needler has never required a full clip to kill someone. That would be nerfing it to the point of complete uselessness. The last good Needler was in Halo:CE, so I’m glad it’s finally usable again.

The needler is fine. It’s actually more useful than it was in past Halo games. If you’re dumb enough to get caught in the open vs someone with one, you deserve to blow up in a pink mist of doom.

Actually, the needler was very similar in Halo 3.

This one is OP, and if people’s line of logic is “don’t get caught out in the middle against needler, or you suck”, yeah a lot of the time you can avoid it, but sometimes you can’t, and the guy with the needler gets a cheap kill.

It’s too powerful not to be labeled a power weapon.

Correct. The Needler was useless in Halo 2. It was very powerful in Halo 3. It was good in Halo:CE kinda, but not worth picking up usually. If you nerf it it won’t be worth picking up, so it’s fine as it is and one of the favorite weapons for most people. You shouldn’t nerf something everyone likes to use.

The needler has been a power weapon since H4.

If you think its op then common sense says you should use it to that advantage.

If you start getting hit by most weapons in the back in the middle you are as good as dead.

No.

I don’t really remember the Halo 3 Needler being good, but I guess that’s cause I never really used it outside of campaign, so I wouldn’t know.

If the Needler’s intended use is out in the open, and someone uses it in such a situation, then it’s not a cheap kill. That’s like saying a guy with shotgun gets a cheap kill cause he got you in close quarters. A lot of weapons are situational and are intended for certain ranges. The Needler just happens to be one that’s good in an open space.

It’s fine. In fact, it’s awesome.

Especially Hailstorm. OH MY LAWD.

I just got my Talon cert. Haven’t used it yet; Hailstorm was one of my first certs though.

What makes Talon special?

1st bold part: So you’re annoyed by a gun? Your feeling toward a gun is not going to get it tweaked. Have you considered adjusting/changing your play style?

2nd bold part:Your topic is needler is op, please nerf… but you cant get used to getting more kills? I’m confused.

Honestly, you should try to change your play style, it will usually do you wonders when you.
Most shooters games need to stop falling into the “gun is op, please nerf trap.”
The balancing of ALL guns in h5 are great, all weapons have a purpose at certain positions and ranges. If you are getting a lot of kills with it’s not because it is op, but because you have used the gun at correct time and correct position.

In my experience, Hailstorm is better. But Talon is rated higher. Description says needles embed in armor, is it good against vehicles? I haven’t tried.

It’s not a cheap kill if you make a mistake and get punished for it. That’s just called playing smarter and safer lol.

I actually think the needler is great in H5…it’s actually usable!!

now what I’m really surprised about is no one mentioning the boltshot yet. No one EVER uses this weapon, so it’s always on the floor, but its a 4SK that tracks…it is AWESOME!!

I used it in campaign; the needles don’t disappear as quickly and takes 2 less needles to super combine; they don’t move as fast as Hailstorm but have increased tracking.

You can find it in the campaign on “Reunion” just continue on towards the right when you come to the covie camp; you’ll have to do some rock climbing.
