This poll isnt about the NR returning instead of the carbine(the carbine is already returning by the way), this is if the Needle rifle should return alongside it. Sorry for not clarifying.

I wouldn’t see the point in that. Both are practically in the same weapon category.
In any case, because the Carbine is already returning, I would not have a problem with the Needle Rifle coming back.

The Brit and the dmr are in the same weapon category too but they are both returning I don’t see why the NR wouldn’t come back. Fear the pink mist.
If we have the opportunity to choose between AR, BR, and DMR, the possibility of both NR and Carbine being in, is not that slim.
Personally I would just LOVE to have a needle rifle in a game without armor lock, especially for brutes, but thats just me.
Although I would rather have a “reaper” if anyone remembers that leak.

I would assume the Needle Rifle would be similar to the Battle Rifle, While the Carbine is closer related to the DMR.
I think the biggest issue would be what niche each weapon (Covenant Carbine and the Needle Rifle) would fit. They’re both practically the same with few differences. I’m not against it, but 343 would have to fit each weapon into it’s own purpose like they’re doing with the DMR and BR85HB SR.
Maybe they could change the Carbine into a two-round burst weapon, and leave the Needle Rifle as a single-shot weapon?

I think the NR counters the DMR better than the BR. The Carbines accuracy is no were near that of the DMR, the Needle rifle has better accuracy and control. unless 343 make a radical change to the Carbine, it will still probably be a doing battle with the magnum and the BR.

Carbine-Faster ROF. Uses Fuel Rod strips (read it somewhere that it uses the same ammo as Fuel Rod Gun) and does pretty equal damage to Body and Armor
Needle RIfle-Slightly slower ROF. Uses Needle ammo forced out of gun. Does weak armor damage, High body damage.
Covenant Carbine > Needle Rifle.
Buuuttt… I wouldn’t mind both.

Carbine mid rage.
DMR long range
NR: Long range
Seems nice. As long as we are unlocking weapons.
The no-bloom NR that’s in reach right now owns, I just wish it would supercombine on rides.
