I’m not trying to be mean or anything but does anyone else think they should’ve used the halo 1 engine and remade all the maps instead of some of them using Reach engine?
if they made a separate multiplayer, it would draw too many players away from Reach
No, you’re definitely not the only person.
I think nintendo should remake link to the past, but leave out the past part because it would be too hard and cost too much money.
Many people agree with you but unfortunately it would not be the same. As you prolly have experienced the lag from online co-op on CEA and that is what makes the game engine FEEL original. If they made the multiplayer online it would basically be halo pc (which is not the same as Console at all) Someone from 343i said the reason they didn’t make a multiplayer is bc they didnt want to split the Halo Reach multiplayer community into two games. ( i think thats bull) but they are having trouble making a decision on how they want to combine the playlists to create a bigger pool of players. allowing a better matchmaking experience for everyone. Halo 4 will be out in one year. That is their priority of a new multiplayer game.

which is sad because they probably won’t pay attention to this game, and CEA players won’t get anything not even forged halo ce maps
I would have liked the option but I bought the game for the campaign so really, I’m not that upset over it. Not really a big loss, while LAN games back in the day were fun and Halo PC was even better, I still don’t miss that multiplayer enough to complain.
> while LAN games back in the day were fun
lol, it’s funny that you can’t even do that.
Actually funny is not the right word. More like embarrassing.
Halo: C.E. Anniversary is already out.
343 already made their decision to use Halo: Reach multiplayer for more nostalgia remake maps.
343 made custom gametypes to mimic the original gameplay as closely as possible.
343 is deep in development of Halo 4.
343 is not remaking Halo: C.E. multiplayer.
/thread
people would complain about their shots never hitting, tonality of lagz and glitches + exploits, and people would become bored out of it, since its not like the first one… Internet can change lifes dude, and also good games, leave the good games made for the internet like that, and tr to help them, not destroy them
I have to agree with this post. Ever since XBL came out Halo 1 veterans have been hoping for a re-release of halo 1 on XBL. It is not complicated, take the whole game and release it with online compatibility, that is it. When Halo Anniversary was announced I had hoped, as did many others like me, that this was finally it. But no, this is garbage, period. This is NOT Halo 1. The multiplayer is Halo: Reach dressed up in a Halo CE covering and released as such. It is nothing like the game that us old players know and love.
This is pure garbage. You friggin SUCK 343 Industries. You could not deliver on a simple promise. Sure the campaign is the same, but the most important aspect? You seriously bombed in that regard. I am taking this trash back for a return of my money. This is not Halo Combat Evolved and DOES NOT deserve to wear that title. What garbage.
> if they made a separate multiplayer, it would draw too many players away from Reach
Or they could have made an entirely new multiplayer that only uses the graphics of Halo CEA, but that would have taken too long, and would have split the multiplayer.
CoD series brings out a new game every year. Do they worry that their new game will split their current population? No, because they are confident that both of their games are good enough to have a healthy following. Just look at Black Ops and MW2 for the past year, both in the top 1 and 2 spots…have a little faith in your games, guys. Releasing a real Halo:CE MP would have brought me and I’m sure a lot of other players back to Halo (I cannot stand Reach MP for what’s it worth), and away from CoD. Here’s to bringing back what made Halo 1 so special to Halo 4 (seeing as Bungie could not).
Oh look, this thread again.
> if they made a separate multiplayer, it would draw too many players away from Reach
Protect the weaker game. Is it working?
> if they made a separate multiplayer, it would draw too many players away from Reach
Kinda wish they did that because Reach sucks.

Oh look, you again.

They just need to permanently remove bloom and all armour abilities except sprint! They don’t do it because they don’t want to admit they messed up.
If you want to play CE’s MP with the exact mechanics of 10 years ago, you must put that 10 year old game into the system to play it.
You cannot add netcode to a game designed to run solely on LAN and expect much more than what XBC and CE-PC already offer.
Wanting the button combos and physics of CE in compromise of the nuance and subtlety of the system to which they’re used in would be blasphemy.
It would be akin to the Psycho remake.

What so halo reach would become halo 3.5 and be rehased. No thanks I dont want halo to stray the path of call of duty and make no changes except weapons with each new installment. This is 2011 not 2007 or even 2001 let halo evolve and stop holding it back because that is what really killing it.
