The Multi-Kill Timer in Infinite is Way too long

The Multi-kill timer needs to go back to 4 seconds like it was in Halo’s prime. All extending the timer has done is make multi-kills less rewarding. Infinite’s multi-kill timer is absolutely atrocious and seems to be trying to cater to less skilled/new players by making it easier for them to get multi-kills to get that dopamine hit. The fact that you can get the timer up to 7 seconds to extend the multi-kill is absolutely ridiculous and completely takes the difficulty out of getting those sweet, sweet multi’s when the timer is so forgiving. The entire point of the multi-kill system in the early Halo’s, the ones that were by far the most popular and most played I might add, was to make you choose between trying to go for the cool clip and continue being aggressive despite maybe being one shot, or to live to fight another fight but drop the multi kill timer. Do you jump out while one shot with that last bullet in your Sniper clip to go for the Overkill Exterm knowing if you miss you die, or do you play it safe and get your shields back and keep the power weapon in your team’s control etc.

Infinite looks promising. But it’s random changes like this that just make you question who thought this was a good idea. It goes back to the “don’t fix what isn’t broken” mantra. No one ever complained about the multi kill timer back then. Stop trying to cater to newer/lesser skilled players by making things “easier” but in return making said thing less rewarding in the meantime. Seeing clips of people getting long kill-streaks is awesome, because it’s difficult. It’s going to become much less awesome seeing some Killamanjaro when the person has 7 freaking seconds to get that last kill to get it. That’s enough time to sit around and get your shields back while reloading behind cover, which completely defeats the idea of what Halo’s multi-kill is about. Kill streaks are there for the dopamine hit of getting a bunch of kills without dying. We don’t need multi-kill’s to basically be that as well.

I agree. I get the accessibility aspect of increasing the timer, but it just makes multi-kills way too easy to get. A killionaire should only be seen once in a blue moon, imo.

I assume its extended due to the longer respawn times. In 4v4 its gonna be hard to get above an overkill because you take over 7 seconds to respawn, unless you space out the kills evenly. In BTB it should be decreased to the normal 4 second time, imo.

^this.

I figured it has to do with the flow of gameplay and other logistics, but again it’s testing too. The metrics for KDA to medals rewarded must be blown up this flight.
