In its current state the motion tracker is pointless. All it does is serve as a distraction on the hud. Increase the range or get rid of it because right now it’s just -Yoinking!- annoying!
It is a motion tracker.
But it’s slow and pointless unless someone is literally right next to you.
Works fine to me. I don’t have any issues with it.
Same here. It is really usefull if you do it rigth.
It saved me alot of times to not beeing spartan charged in the back.
It is all about awareness

How? Sometimes the radar doesn’t even show you’re being charged until the moment of impact. At least for me anyway. The enemy doesn’t show until they’re already charging.

Never had this issue, unless they had camo. Which makes sense, because the camo now limits the advanced mobility that H5 offers, so camo still has a soft hindering effect. I haven’t been charged from behind unless I was scoped in or not paying attention.

Ditto. I have zero complaints with the motion tracker set up. I’m not glued to it all the time, nor is it entirely useless to me. If you’re playing maps well and running good strategies, you won’t need to rely on it near as much.
Motion tracker works fine. If the enemy is camo’d they may not show up on radar, have had enemy tanks drive right past me when camo’d.

I love standing completely still and seeing the enemy run mere feet away from me. That’s when I like to peel away from the wall and put a knife in them.

Yep!
I’ve had similar experiences to OP with the motion tracker, where people haven’t shown up despite coming at me in full sprint.
The fact they decreased the range is a bit of a downer too. the 25M radius was fine, don’t see why they lowered it to 18M, but a problem that’s not really that big since the maps as a whole seem to be the smallest out of any Halo, aside from Warlock and it’s variants.
The smaller radar seems to work in terms of promoting movement around the map.
But yes, we do need some advanced warning that someone is sprinting towards us. Maybe how the radar has a red bit that indicates where you are being shot from… it needs to glow orange to indicate that someone is sprinting towards you from that direction.
Just reading all the “I have no problem with it” comments and the excuses that come along with them. Ever heard of “conditioning”? That exactly what’s happening.
I just want it to be 20 meters because I’m OCD or something like that and I want all numbers in the game to be multiples of 5. I think I may have issues.

I have literally never had an issue with the motion tracker. Never had people not show up, never thought it was too small. Not since I started playing the game. Maybe you’re just upset that others can adapt to the smaller radar and you can’t.
Huh? It works fine for me
Less useful =/= useless. Flaw in your logic.

I don’t think you understand what that word means.

Oh goody, another “Adapt or Die” argument. I’ve never heard THAT one before. Adaptation and criticism aren’t mutually exclusive.
The motion sensor’s original purpose was to allow players to make informed decisions on how to approach combat. In it’s current state, it does not match the fast movement mechanics, and gives you nothing but redundant information of little to no use to you, and is incapable of warning the player. They didn’t just suddenly decide to up the range from 25m to 40m in Halo 4 just for the “lolz”. It was a necessary balancing act to maintain a semblance of at least some tactical nature to the gameplay, without all the “SURPRISE -Yoink-!” Twitch shooter style nonsense this game currently has. The pros that tested this game probably wanted it gone, but it seems like they only included it because there would of been an uproar if they flat out removed such a staple mechanic.
