The most taboo of subjects

Emile’s helmet is stupid.

There, I said it. Why would you scratch your visor like that? How can you see anything? You left two eye holes sure, but they are surrounded by damaged visor. An enemy could exploit the blindspot you, yourself created. I guess it doesn’t matter when you have a cool skull face. Maybe if you had an unobstructed field of vision you could have defeated that elite. Stupid.

Can’t wait for Memories of Reach.

Finally going to have good looking armor in Halo 5
343i armor concept artist person needs the shame nun to follow them around for a couple of days.

Have you ever put a pair of glasses, goggles, etc. on?

The visor isn’t technically see through anyways.

I’m sure the reach kids are hurting after that slam. Well maybe they would be at least mildly annoyed. Well to be honest they are probably more wondering why you bothered with the post.

Actually, I’m just wondering…

Fashion > efficiency

…and…um…that skull face would look scary to most humans anyways… psychological warfare and all that…

I thought saying that sprint shouldn’t be in future Halo games was the most taboo subject. Or Spartan Abilities. That or Dual Wielding and playable Elites should return in Halo 6. /sarcasm/

Yes, but this is more like a pane of glass a couple inches away from your face, with a skull scratched on it, because Spartans are allowed to purposely damage expensive military equipment so they can look cool. I guess its better than putting a pizza skin on your AR, anything is better than putting a pizza skin on your AR.

P.S. Don’t take this topic seriously, because it is stupid, like Emile’s helmet.

I would argue that the most taboo subject involves

The Campaign and all that subtlety and nuance there is, concidering 343 have not said a word about the story sinse launch…I digress.
If spartans can see out of the Achilles helmet with that tiny little visor, I think Emile can see out of his pretty fine, to behonest.

One thing that has me perplexed is the visor on Mjolnir armor. Incase they never retconned it, I remember reading that a camera in the helmet was through which spartans percieved their surroundings, not through the visor itself.

Furthermore, since Halo 3, we’ve seen helmets with smaller and smaller visors, in Reach Gugnir had a small dot, in Halo 4 we had helmets without visors, same in Halo 5.

So essentially, the visor is completely redundant, unless it’s there to make it feel more human. Then again, it’s a weak spot, and super killing machines should be effective, not have vulnerable parts exposed like that with a weak spot, in order to make them more human.

Now as for the visor itself, if I again recall, the shiny layer on the outside is more of a light blocker and / or has an environment specific attribute. Meaning that if you scratch it like Emile did, you lose some of its attributes, but not actually visibility, it looks very white because the protective layer has been peeled off, but the glass or whatever it is, can still be seen through. Perhaps he see some distortion, perhaps not. That is, if he doesn’t use a camera on the helmet to see instead.

If you like to complain about Emile, a Spartan 3 with some psychological defects, or so I’ve understood, scratch his helmet, how about Orbital from Halo 4? Or the several helmets where the visor doesn’t even seem to fall in line with the eyes of the wearer?

I mean, have you? Wearing glasses and goggles limits peripheral vision because you’re looking through something beyond your eye sockets.

And that’s why he uses a shotgun.

In the comic “A Fistful of Arrows” he takes a Hog chaingun to the helmet & survives, however the helmet visor’s surface get damaged. Emile covers up this embarrassing mark by etching the scratches into a skull.

He did defeat the elite?

Then how do you explain the helmets that don’t even have a visor huh!?

What about half the 343 helmets without any visor at all?

Ahead of his time, Emile was using the Halo 5 motion tracker.
