Due to inflation and costs for production and marketing, will Halo Infinite be the most costly Halo game ever made? I wouldn’t doubt it. If so, I hope 343 makes enough content, and high quality content, to justify the cost and regain their investment. It’s tough to do that in AAA games, but it can be done.
Probably. The way all video games are going currently with accessories and micro-transactions, its so damn expensive!
Pretty sure every Halo game cost more to develop than its predecessor. Stands to reason that Infinite will cost more to develop than Halo 5, especially considering that development of the Slipspace Engine coincides with development of Halo Infinite. Not only is a new game in development, but new architecture to run that game. Probably has lengthened dev time meaning a larger budget would be needed to make sure the devs can still feed themselves. I don’t think we’ll see this affect the retail end; I doubt Halo Infinite will be the game to break the $60 retail price trend that has prevailed in AAA gaming for the last decade+. That would cause too much of an uproar. So I fully expect to see microtransactions return in some fashion to help offset the cost of development.

Maaaaaaaan, one thing I’m super jealous of that you Americans have (I’m assuming you’re American) is the cost of things like games!
Here in Aus I’m expecting to see Halo: Infinite retail for between $80-$110!
Off topic there…
Same in Israel, Loxton. It’s almost double the price.
Its likely Halo si-INFINITE will be the more expensive game, however it might not be much higher (or lower?) then Halo 5.
I would gladly pay $100 if it meant absolutely no micro transactions
