60 fps? Dedicated servers? Both of these features sound great, and I would’ve especially loved to see the latter in an earlier Halo game, but there’s nothing to corroborate either of them. All we have to go on is a two-minute cinematic, and what Bonnie Ross said at this year’s E3: “A Halo engine enhanced by the power of cloud computing, dedicated servers, and – for the first time on consoles – a Halo experience that runs at a blistering sixty frames per second.” That’s it. We haven’t seen any gameplay footage that supports this statement, nothing has been leaked or released. All we have is the E3 trailer and a single sentence from the head of 343i.
Please take these and any other claims by 343i about how Halo: Xbone will do this or that with a grain of salt, Halo community. Remember that, not only do we have no evidence that either of these features are in the game, but they have the right to change anything at any time for any reason. It’s all hot air guys, and it’s designed to get you to act before you think, to get your money before they’ve given you something that’s worth it. Don’t buy into it. Wait for some concrete details to surface before you start throwing your wallet at the screen.
I trust 343. Halo fans have been asking for dedicated servers for some time, and I doubt that 343 will do a 180 and decide to not give them to us. And with the power of the next gen console, dedicated servers and 60fps will probably be the new standard for Halo.
Also, Bonnie Ross announcing these features herself basically is concrete evidence.
What would they benefit from lying to the community? Why would they say the game runs at 60 fps and has dedicated servers if it didn’t? Being cautious is one thing. But such paranoia is pointless.
It’s a first announcement trailer. 343i barely even knows what they are building yet.
The only Halos that were ever clearly defined at it’s announcement trailers, were Halo CE, and Halo CE Anniversary. Every single other game left us dark
343 have only told the promises that they can keep. We still have to remember that this game has barely been started yet which means 343 cant show any solid proof that they do have this but I’m sure they do have 60fps and dedicated servers, because if they don’t then they know a lot of fans would disappear and say 343 aren’t trustworthy. That would result in less money available for the halo franchise (and themselves) and eventually cause 343 going bankrupt resulting in the Halo universe to end. We don’t want that.
It’s not a bad thing to be excited about an upcoming game. You are correct that people do need to understand that some details about the game are tentative.

The evidence is that we have MS on video making these claims…

Fair enough. But MS said that Halo usually takes up two E3s. We got the reveal of a new Halo in 2013. We will get a trailer of E3 in 2014. And the game with release in the Fall of 2014.
I’m not saying that Bonnie Ross (and, by extension, 343i) is lying, nor am I saying you shouldn’t be excited about the prospect of a Halo game that runs at 60 fps and has dedicated servers. What I’m saying is you should temper that excitement; wait for proof that these features are in the game. Remember that, so long as Halo: Xbone is in development, everything is subject to change. Remember that, just because someone says something is so, it does not make it so. Doesn’t matter what position that person holds, they’re only human, and as such they are perfectly capable of promising things they can’t deliver.

343 would lose a LOT of respect if they went back on these features. They wouldn’t be so stupid as to announce it and get our hopes and then go back on their word. They also wouldn’t have Bonnie announce it if it wasn’t 100% gonna happen.
If they were not true details of the game then they would lying, which is as I understand illegal, under false advertising. So we have no need to take anything with a grain of salt.
My assumption is that 343i has something on some level up and running on a Xbox One building kit already running at 60fps or else why would they quote it so early.
