Okay, so I was helping some friends with some achievements for ODST, and started to reminisce the times I had playing all the other games when I remembered something quite terrible. I Played every game, beat every single aspect, achievements, rank, and Level, then had to do it all over again in the next game with nothing to show for it. The closest Any of the games came to satisfying this was Halo Reach, but the three armor components didn’t seem enough. So I propose a rather interesting Idea for the avid player; what if your progress made a difference; what if in Halo 4 you got gear for playing the other games. Not just one piece of armor or a special emblem, but a whole separate set for each. For Example, you would gain the following for each game:
> Halo 3
I think that players would prefer to be awarded the above rather then have to unlock them by spending more hours if not days when they already went on the journey to earn them. Anyone should be able to unlock them, but only by playing the other games. This may prove to anger the players who never played the other games, didn’t complete the requirements, or had to switch profiles due to reasons unknown. However, they should still be usable in game, but through this method only would they be able to be unlocked for use in Personal Loadouts. They would not effect combat any more then any other of equal ability already within the game.
I also recommend the return of the other two factions of the covenant; the Zealots commanded by Avu Med 'Telcam will make very interesting foes, and their armor matches their religious commitment, but to see how the Separatists, under the Honorable Warrior’s command of the Arbiter, and the Loyalists, the once servants of the Prophets, now ruled by the Tribal order of the Jiralhanae, free of the chains that suppressed their ancient barbaric nature, they now fight amongst themselves; vying to rule the other tribes. All three of these factions have much to gain from Requiem, and are likely to galvanize under the threat of the other factions or the UNSC gaining the secrets of the Shield world. Seeing the three fight would make quite a sight; the Wild Jackals running about with almost random weapons that they scavenged from lord only knows, against the Storm Jackals and their vicious nature. Not to mention the countless possibilities of new and old Brute weapons and vehicles. Like a Spike turret, a fusion of Super heated metal and rapid succession. An Assault rifle version of the Spike riffle would seems to be in order. A new cocktail of death from the mind of a twisted soul, the Harpoon gun will leave your mangled corpse stuck to the wall, floor, ceiling, or whatever is behind you when they release the trigger. Working like a fusion of the Spiker and the Light Rifle, it can fire by simply tapping the trigger, firing metal barbs with great precision, or you hold the shot, then release to twine three barbs together and staple the target to whatever might be behind it. That Metal on Metal would not only punch holes through you, but sear the flesh just the way they like it. Sound like a party?
I don’t know, it seems like kind of a kick in the nuts to new players, and I don’t really support walling off New people and basically giving the older fans anything, The only thing we do is -Yoink- longer and harder about change. (I know that isn’t true, just kidding.)
The idea isn’t to render new people in the dust, just to reward players for their service. All player would be able to get their hands on this gear, they would just have to play the other games. Which, yes…if your new to the series, or terrible at it, you wouldn’t get instant access to this content, but some of the equipment could still be picked up from other players and unlocked a later time for use. Besides, the more experienced players would still end up making it lop sided in the new armory. This would only help to tip the odds towards the dedicated fan, rather then the over aggressor. Most of the weapons listed are either relics from the past, or weapons that can still be used in game via dead drop or game type specific, like grif ball. I highly doubt giving most of this gear would unbalance the game more then the classes, armor abilities, vehicles, or anything else that may arise in the game…like equipment or new grenades. Again this is just for the merit of those who went through the deployments of the other games and didnt get anything but a good time and some achievements. That is like buying a phone, getting a new one and losing all your apps and contacts…you can live, but it still sucks…I just want to get the party back on the right track…That and the Silenced Pistol and Sub-machine gun are beast…
I’m going to be pissed if any reward requires Anniversary. I know a lot of Halo fans, including myself, that didn’t purchase it because we were either fine with the original or felt buying the same game twice with some new bells and whistles wasn’t justifiable. Anything else is fair game if you ask me though(as long as it’s nothing major).
There’s far too much history, and far too little in the way of options for that kind of system. It also assumes players have used the same account throughout the series… personally I haven’t, so I’d be a little put off.

I agree with this. I don’t really want to buy Wars either, simply because strategy’s not my thing.
For people with completed campaigns in Reach or 3 or anniversary get to see cameo’s in certain parts of the game by key canon characters that Lived or are actually now a part of the Halo 4 story. Like you get a radio transmission from Jun, or a mention of him from a sniper, and if you beat anniversary Maybe a certain elite survived and remembers you and you get a little dialogue section for it that has no effect on the main story.
I think stuff like the above is more acceptable than just rewarding old players. wart wart wart.
Let me just remind everyone that it is very likely some things will be unlocked based on your milestone in Waypoint… in this way the other games do matter… that is the reward for long time players.

Indeed, this is true…I just wanted to list things most reasonable, and I would also like to remind people of two things; 1. each is dependent upon the games they come from. So if you want them, then you simply play them, but its your choice to have them in your loadouts or not. Its not like you can’t ever use them, you just don’t start with them from the beginning. 2. they are likely to do something similar anyway, These are just ones that actually make sense, and aren’t a almost complete waist of time to acquire, like the ones in REACH. I am seeing a lot of negativity, and a lot of people who are either too lazy to go and get the possible requirements, or are afraid that the weapons would be too much to handle. I remind all of you that none of these weapons are seriously overpowering nor would the requirements be excessive, like the main armor for each game, would obviously be to complete the game on Legendary. If you want any of the above to be in your loadouts, then your going to want to complete them, if not then you wont complete them. simple as that. I just believe that people who have completed the games, people that dedicated to the story would be rewarded by for their service. Its only fair. Besides, I have had to make new accounts, get all the achievements, collectibles, and rankings all over again. I have even had to buy the games on more then one occasion with literally no money to my name. So, I can speak from experience that everything that I would ask for in the requirements would be something that anyone can do.
343 wanted to start from scratch. Complaining because they’re not giving you more stuff for getting a lot of stuff in other games always seemed strange to me. If i got all those things i would be thankful for the content i would have got (armor, gamerscore, bragging rights etc) so i guess my advice is to forget your pretentious desires for more content for your performance in other games.

First, its hard to “start from Scratch” if they are making a game in a series that is already popular; kind of defeats the purpose of that statement. Second, others might be complaining, I however am making a statement, if you want to assume that it falls negatively on your state of mind then so be it. Third, your words are a contradiction; “Me no like you talk too much.”, “Me like what you say though”, “Me no want them after all, me going to hate you for talking good things”…seriously…thats how you sounded bro.
Can you guys please refrain from giving a thumps up, then shaking your heads, then troll like a two year old. Kinda lame.
Completing every aspect of the game is rewarding enough. No one asked you to complete it over 100%.
This is the start of a new Halo trilogy, the first Halo game (technically, Anniversary doesn’t really count) to be developed by 343 and they want to start some stuff from scratch and introduce new players to the series.
I think that old-time Halo players with achievements, ranks, commendations and stuff should be rewarded with Spartan Points (credits, progression, whatever you wanna call it) via Halo Waypoint. However, it’s not completely necessary. They should definetely not punish players in achievements for not playing previous Halo games though. I bought 3 Rock Band games on Wii and then switched to Rock Band on the Xbox 360. A few achievements on two of my Xbox 360 Rock Band games require me to export tracks from previous games (that’s on a different console!) which is really annoying.
look everyone, your all seeing this as some kind of punishment, or some kind of cheap trick for experienced players to win every game. What on the list would be too powerful to stop? What part of this gives a player an advantage that one would not acquire by simply leveling? Wouldn’t this actually help the new players to Halo 4 against more experienced players? In the military, when you go on a deployment, they issue you gear required for the mission at hand. They do not tell what you cannot bring in less it is detrimental to the mission. If you were to go to the war zone right now, you would find troops with gear from previous deployments. Heck, some have gear from Nom, and your telling me that is not fair? They walked the road, stepped in every thorn bush and briar patch, and you want to tell them they can’t bring their gear into another battle, just because rookies don’t have the same experience? What is to stop them from going back at a later time to get the achievements? Its not like you’d have to get all the DLC’s or all the achievements to get the gear. You guys act like this is going to give you all serious heart burn.
This concept is taken straight from mass effect; you do something others don’t ordinarily do, and you get rewarded for you time and trouble. Even though the game is winding down in the upcoming release of halo 5. The concept is still relevant, players should be rewarded for their dedication and hard work. Even if these things above had an impact on combat there is no reason why anyone could not simply get them themselves. halo 3 will be free soon and almost all the others can be purchased for less then $20, some less then $10. If you dont like this concept then you wont like games like mass effect or castle miners. It would’ve added more drive to play the games and increased profits for the company’s. I personally recommended this for future installments and hope you guys do also.
he never forgot Halo 2, it’s just now that xbox live support has been shut down for it, it’s impossible for anything to be carried over (no one can get the Halo 2 nameplate in reach anymore)
