Please look up the thread titled “It really is sad” and read through the comments. The thread and original post is about criticisms of halo infinite and feedback on what needs to be improved. I along with many other people got censored from the monitor “The Comedic Hermit” for staying our opinions. The exact reason for my posts being censored were “do not call out individuals”. What the…? It is a forum, “do not call out individuals” makes absolutely no sense. Forum posts and threads are about DISCUSSIONS and people DISCUSSING the topics with each other. I’m not allowed to reply to someone…? Sounds like you just don’t like negative feedback. Because there were 2 individuals on that thread (won’t tag them, because god forbid I “call out individuals”) who were insulting the original poster and several others from criticizing the many problems with halo infinite. They were telling people to get a job and get a life, or not to play the game if they don’t like it. Basically just shut up and be content with what your given. Your not allowed to have an opinion. And you know what’s hilarious is of course the monitors don’t censor those guys. They censor me for tagging them and say that I am making “non-constructive posts” if my post is non constructive, what do you call guys making posts telling people to get a life and that they have stupid opinions? Talk about a giant bias. Monitor Comedic Hermit also was flagging people for “talking about the monitors” like Jesus dude relax with your power trip.
The monitor “the comedic hermit” also has a gigantic political bias and was censoring people for talking about aspects of the gaming industry being “woke”. I went to the comedic hermits Twitter page that is linked in their bio and sure enough, a bunch of woke political tweets. WHAT A SHOCKER so not only is this monitor censoring people who are sharing feedback about negative aspects of the game, but they are bringing their own political agenda into their decision making on what posts to flag. What a joke
This doesn’t surprise me at all, there are hundreds of not, thousands of posts on this site complaining about huge problems or oversights and I haven’t seen a single monitor even ATTEMPT to solve anyone’s issue with their game.
The off topic comments, filter circumvention and general nastiness towards other commenters is what is getting it shut down.
And apparently nobody is learning any lessons today about staying on topic, or discussing things that bear no relevance/context to the subforum they’re in.
Want less locked topics? Advocate for better peer mannerisms, read the room (and CoC), and don’t poke the bear.
I was under the impression the monitors were just select community members or staff for the explicit purpose of monitoring the forums, do they actually have any say in the games development?
The point I am trying to make is I didn’t break any rules. I tagged someone and replied to them. Did not use any curse words, did not go off topic. I just happened to say something that the monitor did not agree with so they flagged my comment. Along with many other peoples.
That’s the literal definition of censorship.
Sure maybe whoever it was that brought up political stuff went off topic, so their comments might deserve to get flagged, but mine did not. What kind of reason is “do not call out individuals”? You will have to flag every single comment on this website then because everyone is replying to each other on these posts.
You literally have guys on that thread calling people stupid and saying “get a life” but I get flagged instead of them. Just thought it was ironic and funny how if a monitor doesn’t like something they go on a power trip and flag them. Rather than actually doing their job and non objectively enforcing rules
Okay, but let’s say they’ve been doing that, it’s not like they have to tell us, so at that point, shouldn’t you be asking the devs to speed up or ask for an update?
