The MK50 Sidekick has become overpowered with the latest update

That’s simply inaccurate (no pun intended). I’ve checked the platform of the people who have melted me (or teammates) with it, and 80% of the time it’s a PC player, and when you include how many of them move in game it’s obvious they’re using KBM.

Controller players do it to, but the gap in kill time is obvious between the two inputs.

There was no update, it’s always been that way. I made a video about it like the first week. Spamming it as fast as possible almost always beats trying to actually aim for headshots because you’re likely to accidentally get a headshot anyway, and if you don’t it’s only like a .1 second difference in ttk with body shots

Ok and do do know that way more people play on PC with controller than they do with KBM? Most KBM users stick to ranked solo because of this issue. So judging by what platform they’re playing on holds very little weight.

Dude this is simply not true lol. Controller is objectively better in this game and when you see how people perform at the higher levels in this game it becomes glaringly obvious. M/KB is at a tangible disadvantage with every weapon except maybe the Sniper. You’re not going to have the proper perspective to judge what people are doing in Gold lobbies.

I’m referring to skill ceilings, not general lobbies. Auto aim is nowhere near enough in this game to place a controller above what a sweaty kbm will do, can’t think of a single game where it is.

The sidekick hasn’t been changed. It’s always been way overpowered. It’s just one of many weapons the need a balance.

Yes, it is enough lol. Onyx players on mouse and keyboard get absolutely dumpstered by Onyx players on controller. The pro scene is made up entirely of controller players. The average accuracies of players at the top of the controller playlist vs the mouse and keyboard playlist are 10-15% higher.

You’re just displaying how ignorant you are. Literally everyone playing the game at an even remotely high level knows mouse and keyboard isn’t viable because no one is good enough at tracking to best someone who can left stick aim well and maximize rotational aim assist/sticky aim.

Why? It’s fact. Precision takes waaaaaaayyyyy more skill to use.

Yeah. Yeah… no wonder you guys want that hold down RT weapon so bad, it can barely make you guys go positive to begin with. This is who 343 is catering to ladies and gentlemen. Screw it, make the AR insta kill, carry a billion grenades and power weapons as a secondary to your AR every match.

So tired of the loud minority… maybe we should moan hard like they do? Maybe we can get BTB and a Casual slayer playlist that’s BR.

The sidekick is the hardest precision weapon right there with the commando to use of any of the Halo games while the AR is by far the most powerful iteration in any of the Halo games, so no if anything the AR is OP.

So what, M&KB still has advantages in this game and has the upper hand in every single other FPS. Now one game they can’t completely dominate in and they’re gonna cry about it? Nobody wants crossplay anyway so they should just shut it off.

I’d say the sidekick is the easiest and gets way more kills than the commando. I barely see anyone use the commando. And the AR is just shy of being useful. You mag dump a guy and you just about only break his shields. But that is inconsistent. The sidekick has almost no spread to it and is spammy. Its a better commando than the commando right now.
Then again, I’ve also been dying behind walls so I think desync is throwing off all the weapons. Even explosions are inconsistent and I think that might be my issue. The desync is so bad nothing is consistent.
It also doesn’t help that the post-flight rebalancing was more nerfs than buffs.

Lol mouse absolutely is not better in this game than a controller.

They have the advantage in long range combat, being able to use higher sensitivity, and in low aim assist weapons like the sidekick, commando, and shock rifle.

Sidekick is way harder to use than the BR and missing 2 shots with the sidekick against a good AR user you will lose and the sidekick user will always have to reload first. I’ve never needed more than a mag with an AR to kill someone.

Players are just becoming better at the game, that’s all

There has been no update at all.

Now, this said, the more I use this gun the more I feel like it needs to be tweaked. There’s way too many times where im saying "how the heck did he kill me from that far away and be that accurate every shot!!! And “oh…I killed him…ok…not sure how but I’ll take it” situations for me.

The gun is just too inaccurate. The bloom on it is horrible! I definitely feel it needs to lose its bloom. Maybe it would make it too strong then, I don’t know…Buti would definitely try it. It does make it too strong, then I would decrease damage on it.

To me, the pistol in Infinite should be a last resort and/or a headshot weapon. I don’t feel like the pistol should beat the AR up close, but it definitely should at mid.

I don’t know…all I know is the pistol needs tweaks. It’s just too inaccurate or…something in my opinion in it’s current state.

“separating the skilled players by the less skilled” that is what’s laughable to me. Why yes, that part is true but it’s laughable because of the advantage controller has and how heavily the game is helping controller.
