I’ve glanced at a many leader design and through discussion threads but I may have missed one talking about what I am about to say so sorry if I repeat a previously mentioned topic. The Banished Elites are pretty much mercenaries yeah? Well the Elite rangers took over the role of the Jackals essentially except the Elites have no upgrades for some reason but I digress. I know some people want to see a Prophet leader despite that being a Covenant exclusive role or a Drone queen since the Drones get no love in the Halo series anymore or even some old leaders from Halo Wars 1 but I feel a Jackal or heck even a Skirmisher leader could be perfect for the Banished forces. The Kig yar as a race are pirates and mercenaries so why wouldn’t Atriox have some join the ranks? I know that the Banished have a good diversity of infantry types but seeing Jackals again would be nice because they are just as iconic as grunts as front line combatants and making a leader based on a Jackal pirate captain or the like could be pretty interesting. I mean Hunters have a voice now with Colony so why not bring back a classic enemy into the mix? Jackal infantry with shields, Jackal snipers, Skirmisher scouts, or whatever creative thing the people at Creative Assembly and 343 can think of for them could be a nice addition. To close off though I know there aren’t too many leaders left for future updates unless they add more way after the fact so they probably have Banished leader designs already made but I just hope they have at least considered Jackals returning is all.

Yes Jackals are mercs, but unlike Elites, they don’t have a code of honor. Atriox is attempting to establish an Empire of Brutes. Like another great Empire, the Roman Empire, if they used Jackal mercs, then like the Romans, they can be paid off. Yes some Jackals have a code of honor, but Brutes also like eating Jackals. The reason Atriox uses Elites is because they will honor their contract and can’t be paid off by the enemies.
Yeah, I kind of see Atriox as Napoleon. An old religious oppressive political structure collapsing with a military man coming in to rebuild it into a more open yet cruel empire.
Jackals are chancers and scavengers. There was a skirmisher shipmistress that tried to unify all the Kig-Yar but failed as most of them didn’t want to. Atriox has already struck a bargain with Let 'Volir. In return for his ship and services Atriox will supply the Enduring Conviction with the fuel it needs. Elites are honourable so despite the fact that Atriox no longer has that ship Let 'Volir and his elites will still honour that contract. The Jackals have no loyalty and are just as likely to steal from Atriox as any others they even did this in the Covenant at times. Plus none of us know what Atriox’s views are on the Jackals.
You all already have very good points there. I never really thought about how Atriox views honor or the fact that Kig-Yar loyalty would be a major issue given the loyalty his troops give him is substantial. I know grunts aren’t exactly the most honorable sort nor are engineers but they are intimidated to work for the Banished so why not some Jackals too? Well even if cannon wise it doesn’t make much sense for Jackals to join the ranks of the Banished at least from a game play element it is a neat little idea. I mean if Johnson and Forge can come back from the dead to join in on the multiplayer action with somehow more advanced units than they should have then adding a leader with Jackals as a unit wouldn’t be totally unfathomable but hey I’m just a Halo fanboy that loves the alien factions and I’d love to see all the species represented in one way or another. A guy can dream right? We all have those ideas and dreams we’d love to see whether it is improved upgrades, leaders, new factions such as flood or forerunners, and remastering some old maps even if deep down we know it may not ever happen.
It could be the Shipmistress from Hunt the Truth season 2. She speaks English, so it would be perfect.
Or, even better, an engineer leader. The hero would be an engineer in a mech. It would look all big and bad, but when you tell it to do stuff, it sounds like a regular engineer lols. I want to see some engis with rifles, -Yoink!-!

Elite rangers should get shield or beam rifle upgrades to replace the sniper position that they took over. Four factions they could add would be Forerunner with Cortana, Diadact, Warden Eternal, Exuberant, or 343 Guilty Spark, Covenant with a Prophet, or some other Covenant leader, a RvB faction with anyone, and a Sanghelios faction with the arbiter.
