The Missing Armor

It has recently been brought to my attention that chief may not be wearing his armor in the teaser trailer, or at least not the chest piece. If you look at chief in the trailer, you can obviously tell that the massive shoulders of his armor aren’t under that cloak. So? is he only wearing his under suit and helmet? Maybe he tried to take his armor back but something happened and all he came out with was a damaged helmet. That would explain why he’s still wearing damaged armor. It also supports the chief going rogue theory.

I personally think that people may be over thinking this. I think that the reason that the chest piece isn’t shown through his cloak is because it would look weird, and they didn’t want you to figure out that it was Chief right away. Bulky armor under the cloak would have made it a lot more obvious.

You can’t tell any of that because cloaks (the entire purpose) are to cover everything up. Seriously have you ever seen somebody wear a cloak in real life and watch the reactions?

People start acting funny because they have no idea what is underneath.

I just knew it was Halo as soon as the trailer started, it was the same with Halo 4 two years ago. Oh the presentation is almost over, here is just this “one last little thing”.

And I don’t know what to think yet. The game is still about 1,5 years away, it’s too early to discuss anything.

The only thing I hope is that they will go full out on the Campaign. I couldn’t care less about multiplayer if the story will be amazing.

Not sure what you’re trying to say. Are agreeing with me when i say that people are over thinking this?

Here if you look at these to pictures it seems he it missing both his shoulder pads and his chest plate.

However in the Teaser you do still see his gauntlets and leg plating.

Again it is a damn cloak the entire point is to cover all of that up.

Yeah your right which is why if he had the armor there’s no reason why 343 would have it on him. If he had the armor on he would look more bulky but we still wouldn’t be able to tell its him until we saw his arm.

I think what people are talking about are the two towers behind the MJOLNIR suit’s torso; on the MJOLNIR Mark VI in Halo 4, they’re especially prominent. And if you look closely in the new trailer, Chief’s cloaked form appears to have absolutely no hunch or formation to suggest that he has anything besides form-fitting attire on his back.

I find it odd when people are talking about his chestplate too, but the shoulders? It’s pretty clear that they’re absent. I’m not sure if this is important or not, but it’s quite clear.

No wonder I kept thinking Chief looked oddly thin in the picture!

inb4 it’s just a CG ‘oopsie’

and we’re all just over-thinking it

I’m sure people act funny because who the f*** wears a cloak in real life…

Probably this.

I had this pointed out on another forum and it fits with my theory that the cloak is to cover up damaged/missing components from sand damage.

I also think that, if the teaser is canon, this could provide an opportunity for a bit of no shield, no radar gameplay. Mix it up a little.

I can think of only one group of people but they’re racist F***tards so they don’t count.

Now Master chief can run around with a western duster! But at the same time capes are a bad idea.
