I see a lot of hate on forums for Halo 5, and very few actual discussions. I’m just wondering if anyone has an actual gauge on customer reaction? I often feel like I’m part of a minority because I personally love the game, yes that includes campaign. I’m asking because I haven’t seen this much vitriol towards a game since Total War Rome II released, yet somehow Halo 5 has one of the best user ratings on the entire of Xbox Live. There are currently only THREE games higher rated than Halo 5 on the whole of the Xbox One marketplace, and those games are GTA V, Fallout 4 and The Witcher 3.
This tells me everything I need to know, but does anyone know if there is any way to gauge this better?
The forum postings about how the game sucks is just a vocal minority venting about the game.
I always had that impression, now I’ve noticed that only three truly exceptional games are considered better by the Xbox community as a whole, from now on I’m just gonna chuckle when I see these Halo doomsayers
2 things.

Campaign is the one thing that more univerally hated on and while I am not huge fan of the MP that 343 gave us, I have seen more people being postive about that aspect of the game.

The rating system is not 100% accurate. I have seen games higher rated but ranked lower and on top of that you can give games ratings before they come out.

Actually…there’s far more to it. Keep in mind the publisher of Halo 5 is Microsoft, and they control the XBox systems. Who’s to say that Microsoft doesn’t tilt the rating system to their favor some how. Just food for thought, I have no proof against it.
But in all fairness, some people bring up really good criticisms and points about Halo 5, exposing flaws, and they do so in hopes to influence the developers, 343, to take action to fix it in Halo 5, or at the very least prevent it from happening again in Halo 6.
I for one find Halo 5: Guardians the second worst Halo of the franchise in comparison to the rest (the worst being Halo 4 in my opinion). I say this due to what I think is level design that sacrificed old core mechanics for the new ones (out with sight lines, in with clamber and evade), lack of content that was expected upon release, an art direction different from Bungie’s Halo titles, story that felt lacking, and the REQ system as a method of unlocking content (I could be on a soapbox for hours about the REQ system).
Again, all these are my opinions, but I have thought them all out. I’m willing to acknowledge everything they’ve done right.
For example, the core mechanics of the game work extremely well, and the all formal elements tie together seamlessly with little to no issue. Warzone is a breathtaking concept (which I think could’ve been better), and the new Forge is absolutely awe inducing.
The majority of people who play halo will never find there way here.
As stated by Burnie Burns (Rooster Teeth) people who like what they have/been told accept it and move on however, people who disagree will make their opinions know (Something along those lines). Basically most people who enjoy the game will continue to play it without any hassle while the people who want to complain about 343 will come here to rant.
That’s because the complainers are usually just an extremely vocal minority.
