Anyone know why there seems to be a huge lack of people using mics even though majority of FPS players have headsets with built in mics?
- Squeakers - Mouth Breathers - Chip Eaters - Rude People - People with TV so loud the game echos through their mic - Party Chat
- bad music
Personally, it’s because I generally can’t stand hearing randoms. It’s not worth it. Even if I have a headset on my head playing alone or with friends I go into a party.
It’s a 50/50 chance of finding constructive people with mics. That’s just not worth it to me. I play when I need to de-stress not get screamed at by people who wouldn’t dare say half the crap they say in person that they say online.
To OP: love your topic heading. You got me. Haha
Had a guy say nothing but Red Team sucked despite him being the lowest on the score board and being useless on the team as a whole, that and I have my music playing as I play Halo 5 to help me focus

Lets not forget the tryhards screaming at you if you -Yoinked!- up something or having “to much fun” in there books
I was highly optimistic about using a mic online for the longest time because I had never done it before, until this past year.
I’ve found that sometimes it’s just better to leave your mic out and not be called the n word unironically because of your voice.
Also remember the guys who scream about how bad their team is when they are loosing yet they are at the bottom of the board.
Well darn it all, you guys all have valid reasons but it makes it so hard to find suitable people to play with after a game.
Mics make Halo. Remember when you could specifically call out someone close to you? Revolutionary. How many times do you have someone owning you and you just want to tell them off? OR, vice versa and justify a kill? Those days are gone, silent…lost. But don’t give up on communication from the non-party folks. They are just mad at those who do not understanding the machine they bought.
How many times do you hear a person talking to their significant other while a baby cries in the background? Yet, those same people don’t acknowledge our suggestions to I would be deeply appreciative if you would refrain from speaking.? It’s the low informational voter. Remember, old school Halo folks are still here, just give a what’s up in the lobby and they will come out of the wood work. If you tell someone a dude is behind you during gameplay, they will un-mute that mic. It’s a matter of community. Just be the guy who wants to help.
I hope this helps more chatter in H5
cool,

you guys are lying, you can individually mute people. OP is right no one uses their mics if they do its rare. I had most mics in doubles when it was up and it was fun.

> cool,
i have gotten mad before cus i see teammates have mics and i call out regardless if they talk or not because sometimes it does help but i also think most people don’t even know the call outs. I have left people one shot near a teammate i call it out and next thing i see is an X and my teammate dead because he either doesn’t listen to callouts of does not know them.
I will frequently just take the opportunity to bash my team for being idiots and losing bases if they don`t have mics.
If they have mics, they can tell me to shut up and I will, if they don`t they can git gud.
Seriously though if you want to just kill no comms go play team slayer, -Yoink- of warzone
I use my mic I hope in a constructive way, calling for help/back up for capturing bases or spotting campers or even saying to flag carriers " I’m on me way " either on foot or in a vehicle.Yes I do swear sometimes but I try to do that while I kill me mic ??
I’ve had people friend me on Xbox because they liked my use of mic, so it is worth listening to chat and it’s worth using YOUR OWN mic!
When two or more have mic’s you can work to gether as a team, for example …
"I’m in the warthog, get in!
‘Only one enemy camped behind their flag let’s go’
“Going around the back of the base”
‘Going in for the flag!’
“-Yoink- ! their shooting me got to move … I’ll try to circle back!”
‘got the flag, running out the front’
“Go my way”
‘Go! Go! Go!’ ( jumping in passenger seat)
FLAG CAPTURE ! YOUR TEAM SCORES.
That’s happened more than once with me !
