I love that they didn’t change the gameplay at all. Every glitch is still intact!
lol ya… This game makes me believe that 343 will do a good job with halo
The game was truly what I wanted to see from 343i. Now I know that they can make halo games.
i agree with you… Now i’m excited to see what halo 4 is like…

Halo 4 is going to be Halo 2. Kinda.
how do you know
I share your sentiments regarding the nature of Halo Anniversary. Whilst achieving the mandate of creating a ‘new’ and unique graphical environment, 343 succeeded in preserving the fundamental essence of the original game. Consequently, Anniversary may best be considered a recollection of past memories. By means of apt game development, a player is able to again enjoy the experience of playing Combat Evolved; in a manner not dissimilar from that associated with the original game.
The fact that they re-released Combat Evolved could be a sign that they are going to follow that mold for Halo4.(fingers crossed) It is however no guarantee that they can make anything near the quality of Combat Evolved which they just ported.
Bungie dropped the ball after the first Halo and in 10 years they were’nt able to make a better Halo game. Did they fluke it the first time? Millions of dollars Yoinked! down the drain and everyone is now divided on what direction to go in.
I will be heartbroken if Halo4 goes ironsights…
Maybe it’s just me, but I like H:CE’s (and thus also HCEA’s) simplicity.
You can only carry two weapons (as in later Halo games, but H:CE was the first one), there aren’t a whole lot of different weapons to choose from but every single one has its use and none feel pointless or redundant, only two types of grenades and not four like in H3 and ODST, no armor abilities, no friendly AI you need to rely on and/or that gets in your way half the game, no Brutes, no Drones (Buggers), no Skirmishers, and Covies still/again speak English (I still hate that I can’t understand them in Reach).
Add to that Anniversary’s truly breathtakingly beautiful new graphics, the awesome sounds (I literally NEVER used the AR in H:CE, but I used it quite a lot in HCEA only because of how great it sounds), the terminals that I think are amazing and extremely interesting, and a few new and quite fun skulls (Grunt Birthday Party + Grunt Funeral + Boom = constant grinning, laughing, and occasional cussing at myself when I instinctively melee a Grunt).
Without exaggeration I can say that HCEA is my most favorite FPS since H:CE. Period.
