I’m Honestly glad the Halo Infinite multiplayer is like this because that’s what I expected from a Halo game, Guns, Grenades and Gauntlets… it sucks that controller is still very annoying to deal with in it’s optimal range, but I suppose I’ll just happily get onyx in K&M only lobby and call it a day for now…
Grenade spam can feel dirty sure, but then you gotta stop rushing into corridors when you know the enemy is around the corner… double pummels can feel cheap, but not only can you do that and possibly trade, but if you’re constantly dying to it then you’re either running around constantly like a chicken with your head cut off or you’re always alone in a bad position (keep in mind that melee is kinda bugged too atm)…
There IS a method to the madness, and while in full controller lobbies, the aim is almost entirely on equal footing which makes the gunplay feel flat, it’s still there, especially in ranked where call outs, marking and nading the proper spots means the difference between winning and losing, because the team that doesn’t call out, clean up kills and doesn’t play the objective will always lose, this is true in any FPS, especially in Halo.

melee, guns and grenades are the backbone of halo PvP but i’ll agree melee is too strong and its buff in halo 3 has made it an extremely detrimental crutch.
as someone who grew up with CE and 2, I feel those games did melees a lot better. majority of halo players seem to be used to the current system though so don’t expect it to change.
Imagine being new to a beloved franchise and trying to change the entire game to match your own personal taste XD Halo is Halo, mate. It ain’t changing for you. Either accustom yourself to Halo’s characteristics or remain stubborn and play something else. I highly recommend playing through the Master Chief Collection’s six campaigns to understand Halo’s legacy before bagging it. Once you get over your irrationally predetermined expectations, you might find you actually enjoy the series. Halo wasn’t sold as the “first-person shooter king of console.” It became the king of console shooters due to its own merit. Open your mind a little, and give it a proper go.
You clearly are not spun up on Halo lore or you would understand why the melee kills. This game is based of the Halo franchise lore where an augmented human has superhuman strength so imagine superman punching you, and no they are not invincible so yes they can die from it. Now imaging a suit of armor so heavy it the servos disengaged it could crush you so now you have a super punch and crippling weight so welcome to the golden triangle.
That’s literally the design philosophy of Halo combat. Clearly it’s not for you.
I have there a simply solution:
If you really hate that gameplay so much, quit the game. You see that you are in the total minority.
You want to play Apex/CoD Gemeplay/Gunplay? Go little buddy and play it.

The purpose of grenades is to not be like the guns, yes, lul. Aim assist is not that egregious on controller either. That said, Halo was never meant to appeal to everyone. I think your critique is completely ludicrous and not really supported by many facts at all, but if that is your prerogative then very well.
Also, it should be noted that, in EVERY SINGLE GAME I PLAY on Halo, a vast majority of my kills come from guns, and that happens to nearly everyone else. This seems like a ragepost to me. Like you’ve been back-whacked or walkied into a grenade one too many times and aren’t really organizing your complaint well because you’re dragging your knuckles mindless across the keyboard in agony.
I disagree with a blast range or damage nerf, and especially disagree with adding an indicator. We should not hold your hands on the one side, on the other side if you play enough you get the ‘feeling’ what the damage range is IMO.
I read someone that wants to dominate a CoD Warzone match against noobs and claim they are ‘so epic, bruh’ . This is probably your first Halo multiplayer game after reading your post. I absolutely disagree with you. Halo is Halo, not Quake or CoD etc. Go play an other game if this game doesn’t suit you.

Do you realize that halo has 2k to 3k viewers when it should have 50k, 70k, 90k and be breaking records on twitch / youtube. halo-infinite is being a FAILURE.
My suggestions are these and if the Dev-team took them HALO would have a 65% of “GUN PLAY WHICH IS IMPORTANT BECAUSE IT IS A SHOOTER” It is not a MELEE-SIMULATOR nor is it a GRENADE-SIMULATOR it is a SHOOTER.

You speak as if the AIM-ASSIST were the maximum splendor of the “Mechanical-skills” of the show in the “E-sports”
The aim-assist is a “semi-aim-bot” which the game gives to PLAYERS who cannot aim, which is why PLATINUM 1 players have 55% accuracy. In case you DIDN’T KNOW to reach 45% in kb / mouse, IT TAKES YEARS of training, no gold / platinum would be around 33% -35% accuracy.
It’s alm-assist is the MOST toxic tool on the story in the FPS that’s why “Shroud”, “XQX” “Dr disrespect” among others HATE IT only a “Noob” would defend aim-assist and LOVE it because it doesn’t have “MECHANICALS”

halo has always been about balancing guns, melee, and grenades. IT is the triangle of power as the devs called it.
The game is meant to have an even use of all three with your options based on what you have. It is why some weapons like the mangler have bonus melee to the point they can be used as a one shot one punch weapon to kill people.
It is why plasma weapons are really good in combo with grenades use the plasma to strip the shields then the grenade to kill in cover.
And melee that is always an option in close range for a reason.

Also don’t go on about streamers, it doesn’t add anything to the conversation and is really pointless, correlation is not causation. Melee isn’t why people don’t stream it neither is grenade spam.
