Can i get more of an explanation on the meddlers, I genuinely feel in the dark about something I think most people are yet still feel that there are people more qualified to answer a question that I have that is just pure speculation and theories.
All we have about the “meddlers” is from a CEA terminal. But that’s just referring to the meddlers who crash landed on Installation 04. If I recall correctly, they were characterized as a bear-like species? But someone can correct me on that if I’m wrong.
Beyond those meddlers, the term “meddler” has been used multiple times to characterize anyone that meddles with Forerunner technology. 343 GS referred to the Prophets as meddlers, for example.
To add more information. We know that for the Flood to be released on Installation-05 that someone had to meddle with the facility in order to let the Flood out, and it’s believed that this was done by a group of Meddlers, as how else would they have broke Quarantine?
I don’t know specifically, but as others have stated, it may be used at times to indicate any non-Human (Reclaimer) entity attempting to access or utilize Forerunner technology, or potentially, preventing Humanity from doing so.
