The Master Chief, Multiplayer and Options | Halo 5

I’ve been hearing a lot of things about people thinking Blue Teams lack of lines, dialog and on screen time in Halo 5 is a sign… but in reality, it was actually just talented writing, mind you there were some off and ons here and there, but I’m sticking the Chief and Multiplayer. Here’s why Blue Team and Johns role in the next coming games will be crucial;

================================================================================

Steve Downes is NOT retiring from Voice Acting. He retired from Radio to spend more time with his family, which in my opinion is a very logical reason. He’s got a life.
On top of that, Blue Team was utilized so little in Halo 5 because they wanted to keep the Characters’ motives hidden from the player (as I said above, sometimes things weren’t done as WELL as they could have been, but its still not a horrible horrible issue), so they throw you into Lockes Perspective. Now, if you think they are just going to take Chief and get rid of him and his newly welcomed team (To which fans have wanted to see in a Halo game for YEARS) in replacement for Locke- your very wrong. Halo 5 could’ve been done in many different ways, but there is significance in the reasoning for the steps taken.

STORY SPOILERS:

Cortana isn’t evil, she believes her motives are proper, and she also clearly stands in the belief that she is doing it in a better form in comparison to the Forerunners, she believes that her method of upholding the Mantle is far more peaceful and respectful towards the races of the Galaxy. To an extent, I feel sorry that John didn’t accept her offer, although at the same time we know where John stands… and whats worse then watching your best friend and greatest Ally die? Watching them betray you. Watching them leave you behind. With the addition of Blue Team, I expect to see a very big equality in missions/on-screen time in the next big game as it literally leads into a Galactic War. The Forerunners are being re-awoken in a different image (the Created as Cortana calls them)- thus Chief must now find a way of stopping Cortana, which will not only be the hardest thing for him to do, but it will push the Galaxy and Human Race forward. Which in a sense is kind of the idea the Librarian had since the Forerunner/Ancient Human days.Point is, The Chief is not going anywhere until HIS Reclamation is complete. As much as Humanity as a whole are all ‘Reclaimers’. He is THE Reclaimer. He has a story to complete and Locke/Osiris will likely play a heavy role in that story. Along with Blue Team. Bringing them in for no reason, especially with the Significant Line he spoke at the end of the “Halo: The Fall Of Reach” mini series that 343i had made.

Master Chief: “Sam was my friend. He was my Brother. He was… our brother. Last time we were here, I asked Sam to trust me to take us home- to Follow me.”

John walks forward, in front of the Mark (Blue Team Logo) they carved into a stone. (Sams Grave). He turns around and looks at Blue Team

Master Chief: “Will you trust me now? Will you follow me?”

Cue Emotional Music.

I doubt with 99.5% of my being that hes going anywhere. 343i is doing a good job, and as much as they are getting SOME complaints about Multiplayer and some about the lack of Blue Team in Campaign, its no where nearly as bad as Halo 4 ended up, which I must admit, for being their FIRST GAME as a Company and disfigured team, it wasn’t absolutely terrible. I appreciated it more then I did Combat Evolved (Halo 4). Regardless, Halo 5 is actually quite an incredible game, and yea- I understand the communities point of view.

A Lack of Options in Customs, No Forge at Launch and some other multiplayer issues. Some they can’t address… and some they already are. Yea, it sucks we don’t have those options RIGHT now… but I think its awesome we’re going to even be getting those things. They didn’t have to work on them and give them to us after Launch, but they are, they are because they love Halo… and even then, we’re getting them free. Alongside a crap ton of DLC for FREE. My point is guys, Chief isn’t going anywhere.

Steve Downes made a post on Twitter thanking Halo for what its given and done for him, but that was about the ‘HUNTtheTRUTH’ Campaign. Even then, I’m sure there was some truth within it. Mainly about how hes thankful. Point is, and I’m gonna keep saying it until a 343i Employee decides to come out and tell me straight that I’m wrong.

Steve Downes, The Master Chief. The Spartan Super Soldier. Hes not going anywhere. Hes got a Job to do. :wink:
