Because it was never explicitly stated it was a trial and that can lead to legal recourse because of false advertisement it was stated as the full thing and is kinda of like if you go to a store they offer a tv at 50% off but then pull the sign down while your at the register then deny you the item for that price this seems like a very risky move on 343I part
Sure seems like they are just throwing ideas at the wall to see what sticks.
DLC broken? Free for all. If you can get it, it’s yours. Wait, no… it was a trial.
It was actually stated that it would cost 800msp, but due to some moron’s screwup people were getting it for free. Now they’re correcting that mistake and while they could cut access to those maps right now, they’re allowing people to get a few more days to play it before you either stop or rightfully pay for the maps.
This also helps the issue with people who have the limited edition and map pass, now we really DO get all three packs at an actual discount instead of wasting money.
I’m perfectly fine with this.

Feel free to take them to arbirtration and see how that goes for you
I’d really like to see one of these Forum users go up against Microsoft’s Legal Team and come out winning.
My only issue with this is the fact that they’re covering it up… and they’re doing a pathetic job at it. If they’d just come out and admit it was a mistake, they wouldn’t be -Yoink!- all over their customers by insulting their intelligence which would lead to people not being as angry when their access is revoked.
Just horrible PR from Microsoft and 343.

^^this
I don’t care about losing the maps, but in my opinion, they shouldn’t be able to pull this trial crap. It was advertised as a full map pack and I wouldn’t think they can change into a trial after a “purchase”. It may have been 0 MSP, but regardless of the price, once you accept the transaction window it is a purchase. But whatever. Microsoft is really big with lots of lawyers and loopholes, so they can do whatever they want.
Im fine. They take the maps away, and Im sure i wont be the only one, but ill be leaving the halo gaming community and go over to the call of duty side of things, and they can have my money lol.
No big deal. I didnt even want the effing maps but when i went to the little star on my start up, and it said dlc crimson map packs for 0 ms points, i was like, oh okay. Then i read its a mistake, then i read they are giving a trial after i already saw the official xbox twitter tell me and others that it was there mistake, and if we got em they are ours, to now, after the 18th we are paying. LAUGHABLE. i wont bother with a suit, there isnt one, its their property, i didnt pay for it. This is akin to an employee at walmart giving you a dvd for free, and the minute you walk out the store, you are arrested for shoplifting. Thats how i feel.
