Um, no, pros know what will make THEIR game better, not the casual’s game.
Casual gameplay is a lot different than Pro gameplay, what works for a casual might not work for a pro, what works for a pro might not work for a casual, that’s just how it is.
Saying pros know what is best for the game is just a bigoted statement, especially when the competitive community is so tiny like it is in Infinite.
It would be a lot different if the competitive community was a major part of the playerbase, but it isn’t for Halo
If casual players want an actual say they better start providing facts for what they want changed instead of worthless dribble they almost always spit out when it comes to balancing. Almost always opinion garbage.
Likewise, we causal players understand how the social game works best and what’s best for the social side of the game. Just because the pro gamers have deeper pockets and (probably) have a larger financial pull on the game future doesn’t make them superior to anyone else.
Pro players didn’t ask for this nerf lol. They just wanted it to be moved to a different weapon spawn pad. Stuff like that should be easily done. 343 is just bad.
343 will not be nerfing the mangler. They’re reducing melee damage by 10%. I’m happy to hear this as I find it frustrating how melees are the only viable strategy in close quarters combat. This change will leave a little more room for other strategies. The fact that this also gets rid of a balance breaking problem is a plus and means it’s a particularly elegant solution. I’m looking forward to the change.
Honestly, it makes no sense why there is such a prevalent stigma that “pro players know what’s best” and “pro players are superior to casual players in all regards”. They can dish out more money and as such (likely) have more pull with how the game gets changed. It feels like the democracy has been taken out of the feedback and now tailors to the small percentage of players who can bully 343 into making changes that benefit them.
Sorry if this got a little bit politically charged, I’m just very passionate about the game and the comunity.
An important fact is that the community has supported the saga since its inception, creating new maps and game modes in forge. The community is what kept even Halo 5 alive!! The mangler without his meele takes much longer than the ar to eliminate a player. Sadly the first ones who asked for nerf the mangler were the pro player. It took a long time for casuals to complain about the gun.
Since 343 took over, they decided to pay more attention to pro players than to those who kept their games with content.
Halo infinite is a case, more than 5 tournaments in competitive instead of 343 taking care of the game
Yeah. I doubt that even the pros would’ve wanted a 10% nerf to melee damage. They just wanted 1 simple change.
At least the ones that I’ve been following. For me, the mangler’s melee speed should’ve been tweaked to reflect the weight of a hand-held shotgun as that’s pretty much what it is.
Along with that, it should’ve been moved to tier 2.
I’m all for balance, definitely, but the mangler has a unique role, that works for it’s intended purpose.
It is not overpowered and does not need a nerf. They are removing the one feature that makes it unique, and you need to be point blank to use. At most change it to tier 2 if they really need to do something.
Anyone who plays can tell if a gun is overpowered and causes problems, not just “Pro” players.
The mangler is fine as it is.
“I’m a pro player” blah, blah blah…the real cry babies.
Cute but it was changed because it was being used the same way a shotgun should. There’s no skill gap in hitting two buttons facing your enemy at point blank.
First off, pro players are kinda’ broke. Second off, no, they do not bully 343i into anything. If you knew ANY pros you would know how hard they fight to be heard at ALL.
Literally no! Pros have been ignored for YEARS.
This I agree with, but this change they put in is fine.
The normal fire? Absolutely, and I’m glad they did nothing to alter that. The melee combo? Nah that’s the same as the shotguns, hell in the bulldog’s case it’s easier given the mangler can more reliably get someone into melee kill range at a distance.
I have said it many times… I wish there was an HCS playlist where all the “pro” settings or whatever can be played… Then have regular ranked and social playlist. I can agree “pros” shouldn’t really dictate the game, but they and the players who like the really competitive settings should have a place to play.
I understand why casuals would hate the mangler as somebody whos a competitive player I like it and the skill gap it has to be able to use it
So Id say we need to introduce new weapons that are easier to obtain and use for casuals I dont mind if they change the mangler either ill just adapt to the change and work with it
Like I’ve seen leaks for a banished covenant carbine which im very excited for one of my favorite covenants weapons which i think being introduced casuals will like
We cant just think of competitive players the casuals who get off work or school etc and just wanna turn off their brains and enjoy a game they love is extremely important to Halo infinites life span and its overall joy to play threw all the Halo games theres tons of weapons I wanna see and once they start coming i dont think many people will care to much about the mangler anymore
