The carbine was great, the closest we have is the stalker rifle. It just feels stiff, idk.
I could see them dropping the loaded ammo from 8 → 6. A 25% reduction is pretty major, especially given it’s effective range.
Another possible change is nerfing the reload so it can’t be skipped with melee.
For the record, I like the weapon as it is. I don’t think it really needs any changes at this time.
Well I think increasing the weapon tier would be a more balanced change. As it stands now, it’s quite easy for several players to be using the mangler simultaneously. Having the mangler on the field a bit less would probably alleviate some of the grievances players have with it.

its the fact that they can not tell the difference between using exploits and a good gun, this is what doom eternal speed runners call “quick switch” an exploit in the game that allows you to cut through reload or cool down time
Yeah I’ve seen that quick drop BR combo. It’s just so highlighted with the mangler. You can do this with other weapons as well such as the plasma pistol.
I’m not sure how much of an exploit it really is at this point since 343 has so clearly attached a medal to the play.
while that is the case, its insanely strong.
if there was more of a delay to it like switching it would be way more balanced, but the fact that you instantly swap. i dont care if other halo games had exploits like this ie 2, its not fun to play against casually
For sure, it is strong.
Tier 2 mangler is really the move here though. It’s going to make getting the weapon much more impactful, and keep the matches less saturated with the gun.
