I defended the magler here and there and didn’t really see an issue with it until games started getting sweaty and realized why the pros hate it.
You from br,br,br,br,br to BLAM. One shot melee and dead. It breaks the entire pace of the game and gives kills to corner campers. There also isn’t a gun fight because it happens so fast. It defeats the whole purpose of a skilled based shooter and makes it boring as a result. Like idc that you can get a magler kill. I’m a lot more interested in your precision skill
Yeah. A lot of one shot melee weapons. Where are all the prescision weapons at?
Man I miss halo 5 HCS settings. Nothing but precision rifles like it should be. Don’t get me wrong I love weapons like the smg. even the smg wasn’t a one shot melee gun. You had to at least put some of the clip in before the melee
Hot Take but,
Getting Mangler Kills outside of Melee range is SUPER rewarding.
BR Optimal TTK is 1.55
Mangler Optimal TTK is 1.45
The core difference being that the BR is a hit scan, and the mangler is a projectile based weapon.
They have very very different ease of Use.
Missing your mangler shots is alot less forgiving than Missing BR shots is.
Besides, camping really only works Once, at most Twice.
If you’re not playing smart enough to be more cautious around corners, or learning position yourself more carefully. you frankly deserve to die in melee range.
“Skill based shooters”
Im sorry unless you’re playing on PC you’re going to need to explain to me how on earth you think Infinites shooting is based on skill. when the aim assist it so over tuned that there are youtube videos of people getting kills exclusively through strafe firing.
I still think aim assist is just inconsistently broken. I get little to no aim assist ever on PC. Yet sometimes if I’m playing on my Series X I won’t get aim assist either. While other times aim assist on Series X feels OP aka how it should on all platforms.
Well to be clear I’m talking about the one shot melee from the mangler. I’m not talking about getting distance kills with the mangler.
HOWEVER. One shot takes half your shield so someone else can run up to you and melee you which still makes the mangler a pretty devasting weapon.
This has nothing to do with me deserving to die because I didn’t check a corner. This is all about it being boring because it takes no skill to use.
Regaurdless of aim assist the br takes more skill to use than the mangler. This is non debatable. That’s coming from someone who hates how easy the br is to use
This new user Reply limit is stupid. made me wait a whole day to post this.
PC doesn’t have aim assist,
It still has SOME bullet magnetism (Heavily reduced when not using a controller), but when on K&M aim assist is completely removed.
Frankly, I think they over nerfed Bullet Mag for PC.
Aim assist is understandably off tho, since having your mouse inputs dragged around by the computer makes playing games with it unplayable.
All the information I can find about it suggest its hitscan.
What suggests even further that the Battle Rifle itself is hit scan is that it is not effected by the problems with Desync. Where as other projectile weapons in the game do have phantom bullets that don’t register hits that they otherwise should have.
You see this issue sparingly with the Ravager, Hydra, and rarely the Mangler or Plasma Pistol.
Hell sometimes even the Spankr when it fails to kill an enemy in its lethal splash range.
Like even if the weapons are based purely on projectiles, and somehow was bypassing all the problems that desync and latency, with the ability to kill people behind walls.
The speed at which the bullet travels is indistinguishable from what would essentially be Hitscan.
Since the Commando, The BR, the Sidekick, AND the sniper rifle hit on trigger pull. The moment the gun fires is the moment the projectile lands, with no need to lead your shots at any distance. even across the Largest maps in Infinite.
You can even throw the Electric guns in there as well.
Their also essentially hitscan.
It’s not completely removed, the experience apparently varies from user to user. For me, I have more AS on PC using a controller than on the Series X,which I find it to be so -Yoink!- hilarious.
You can also one shot melee with the heatwave, bulldog, hydra, and ravager. Hate those guns too? Do they ruin the combat too?
Lmao not everyone has to run around with a BR engaging in 3-5 second gun fights you turd
When I say “PC”, it should be really understood that It just means Shorthand for Mouse and Keyboard.
Because don’t really see people ever using M&K on Console.
PC = M&K (mainly)
Console = Controller (mainly)
Yes, the PC version of Halo Infinite does pickup if the player is using a controller.
Yes, the controller on PC does get Aim assist when if finds a controller its compatible with.
No, not all 3ed party controllers work. Mine definitely does not.
No, im not going to buy a 50$ controller that i’m never going to use on my PC, and realistically 90%+ of PC users aren’t going to do that either because they have M&K already.
Man, you’re the second person to point out something so… mild.
Never had this problem on the Steam forums. Everyone there universally understands the PC/Console Shorthand.
