The Mammoth

I don’t see why it’s appropriate to count The Mammoth as a “new” vehicle – sure it’s bigger and has new ‘stuff’ to it, but it’s still the Elephant, just a slightly more advanced version of it. They may as well rename the Warthog as Cobra just because it has changed a bit in functionality. All I’m saying is that I hope the Mammoth won’t be considered as one of the two “new” vehicles in Halo 4 because in reality, it’s just a mere alternation of the Elephant.

It’s not a “Pre decessor” It’s evolved even if the name has degressed, and it is a new vehicle, it looks to be much bigger then the elephant, it has rocket turrets, it births warthhogs and the thing is massive, its like a portable base.

Alternation? Not really.

Sure same concept, but many times bigger, and massively armed. That could count as being new.

And the Cobra is a real UNSC Vehicle, its Anti-Vehicle specialized. It ha sa railgun firing mode, locking it down makes it more powerful. The Halo 4 Warthog isn’t anywhere near it.

Last time I checked the Elephant wasn’t as big, or bigger, then a Scarab and dind’t have a giant gun on top.

Also, it seems like the mammoth can actually go faster than 1mph and have closed cabins for the driver.

Yeah, but I just used “Cobra” to give a sense of what I’m saying.

I’d say it’s a new vehicle, it has a different name, looks completely different. I say it’s appropriate to count it as a new vehicle.

I’d call it a new vechile. I cery cool one, at that.

I personally hope we can spawn it in forge.

If you had to ask me, it would seem like a major waste of time to fully detail an entire brand-spankin’-new vehicle for a game, right down to the gigantic gun on top with miniaturized lights on it for about two or three appearances within the game’s full lifetime (Campaign & Spartan Ops).

Yeah, that’s why they didn’t use actual models for the Distance-Falcons (TotS in Reach) in Halo: Reach. It’s a waste of time to input code for a fully-detailed lag-inducing monster. It’s also why the texture inside the Pelican (Easter Egg) isn’t fully detailed on “New Alexandria”.

I’d say it’s not only in Campaign, but we’ll be seeing it in Spartan Ops AND Multiplayer.
Otherwise, it’s a big waste of time regarding details. Detailing causes extra lag due to pixels, and thus needs to be good to counter-act that for players.

It isn’t a new vehicle because we have never seen it before and it’s totally new.

For sure Spartan Ops. Multiplayer is a bit iffy due to its size, but we’ll see.

i dont care i just hope its in multiplayer

This is like saying the Gauss Hog wasn’t a new vehicle in Halo 2.

Wait, the Cobra is in?!?!?!?!

> This is like saying the Gauss Hog wasn’t a new vehicle in Halo 2.

It wasn’t, it was just a new weapon on top of an old vehicle.
