Ive seen some people here saying that the Mammoth might NOT be a new vehicle, that you will ONLY be able to drive it in campaign and stuff, well thats not entirely true, the Mammoth IS a new vehicle, will it be drivable? OF COURSE, all vehicles are drivable, thats why they’re called Vehicles.
Ive got proves right here:
this is from The Halo Bulletin: 6.13.12
Before you start reading the words of your favorite Scottish Franchise Development Director, I thought it would be helpful to explain a few of his more cryptic phrases. “Bench press contest” means “pillow fight”, “some” means “Mammoth”, and “there are lots of surprises to come” means “Kiki has a new boyfriend". It’s worth noting said boyfriend is not aware of this relationship.
And heres the question:
How many vehicles are in the game? –Rtas9
Some.
This might not be a huge reveal but is worth considering, since not everyone knew about this
Great find! I can’t wait to see the successor of the Elephant used in game
I wonder if you can splatter someone with the Mammoth.
Hopefully the Mammoth will be better than the Elephant.
the mammoth is NOT new, it was in halo 3.
Nice find, really hope they’re in all three forge maps.
> the mammoth is NOT new, it was in halo 3.
That’s the Elephant, its great Ancestor makes an appearance in Halo 4.
> the mammoth is NOT new, it was in halo 3.
that was the Elephant
> the mammoth is NOT new, it was in halo 3.
nevermind, when i read mammoth i thought elephant because they are basically the same thing
but i still don’t think it deserves to be called new just because its a bigger elephant. doesn’t really matter though
> We already know Elites are not in, which means no Invasion as we know it in Halo 4. Have you considered releasing a game type (both at launch and after launch) which relied on some of the aspects which made Invasion great? –Gabotron ES

> Elites are in Campaign. Elites are not playable MP types. We will, however, add some interesting variety to MP which will scratch that itch.
This is the bulletin that mentioned adding something else to MP to replace elites! I have been trying to find this bulletin for a long time.
OT: Well, maybe the new elephant IS called a Mammoth.
the pelican is a vehicle in all the halo games, but it hasn’t ever been drive-able. what makes you think the mammoth is any different. especially since given it’s size. i can’t really imagine an area large and flat enough with no obstructions working alongside everything else in the game.
Well, the Scarab, Longsword, Seraph, Pelican, Spirit and Phantom are all vehicles, but we haven’t been able to drive any of them unless it was a glitch or an easter egg, so just because this huge beast is a vehicles doesn’t instantly make it drivable.
This is awesome news! Good find OP!
> the pelican is a vehicle in all the halo games, but it hasn’t ever been drive-able. what makes you think the mammoth is any different. especially since given it’s size.
Well since Frank O’Connor and BS Angel just said it right here answering a fan’s question, and its obviously an successor from Halo 3’s Elephant.
> i can’t really imagine an area large and flat enough with no obstructions working alongside everything else in the game.
not even a Sandtrap-like map? If theres a huge vehicle like the Mammoth in Halo 4, theres has to be a huge brand new map for it
> I wonder if you can splatter someone with the Mammoth.
More so crushing them

Since its actually Halo 3’s Elephant’s successor, why wouldn’t it be drivable?
I SO want Mammoths in forge.

How can you think a newly updated vehicle known as the Mammoth is an ANCESTOR/OLDER then the Elephant itself that’s not logical at all…!?
Also this info is OLD like 6/13/12 old and we had numerous topics on it this aside that’s over a month back and its not verified to be in Multiplayer as far as we know the pictures could be campaign or something else though its likely to be in Multiplayer we shouldn’t jump to conclusions
Mammoth = Sci-Fi Future Mobile Home
Think a real mammoth is a hairier bigger elephant… you make the conclusion
