The Master Builder has been heavily hinted at, and unfortunately for the Halo Community (at least on the forums), a magazine got published with the Master Builder’s name on the front cover (that was a horrendous month).
However, considering the Forerunners essentially handed down The Mantle to the Humans, I would say that they are a more likely ally than antagonist.
