I don’t know how many people are interested in this but I sure am. I was thinking of all the different ways Halo 4 could come to a close and most of my thinking was about the Master Chief and Cortana in particular. Then I got to thinking about the possibilities for the new enemies fate. I’m not talking about the Prometheans in general. I’m talking about the head honcho whether that be the Didact or someone else. Would you want Master Chief to kill off the new enemy or would you rather have a space chase cliffhanger kinda like Halo 2? I know that Halo 2 had a pretty bad ending but Halo 3 made up for it. I think it would be pretty neat for this new threat to leave Requiem at the end of Halo 4 and possibly head for Earth or another Forerunner world.
So my question is…
Do you think the new enemy should live and Halo 4 end with a space chase?
OR
Should MC kill him/her/it off and leave us wondering whats going to happen for Halo 5?
It is clearly the Didact given the tons of hints 343i has been throwing at us in all of the expanded universe stuff after Reach came out.
And my guess is whoever is the real bad guy in Halo 4 is NOT the overall main bad guy in the Reclaimer Trilogy. My money goes on that title being awarded to the Precursors.
I definitely don’t like the possibility of the Didact (or whoever the ancient evil is) dying within 1-2 game.
I hate it when the main enemy gets killed off in the game only to find out that there’s an even greater enemy (the guy was merely a subordinate or pawn) in the next game. So much for ancient evil…
I hate it when characters are introduced in a game then killed off right at the beginning of the next game
I hate it when manipulated enemies don’t get the chance to realize their error until the last second… and get killed off. Redemption is a reoccurring theme in Halo 4. It’s even hinted by Chakas and his declaration that the Librarian was alive. Right now it’s about Cortana but who knows, maybe in the next 2 games, it’ll be about the ancient evil.
Remember, 343 said they were going to make Chief’s first true nemesis in the Reclaimer trilogy. I didn’t hear nothing about multiple nemeses.

They really do need to make the new enemy a sneaky stealthy pain in the butt. It needs to be kinda like the Prophets. At least one of them lasted throughout the full last trilogy. It made his death much more enjoyable.

Exactly. I’d also hate to see a planet being so developed and such with a rich backstory and all the engaging time we’ve put into it to just be trashed. I think Requiem should be a recurring location in the Reclaimer trilogy, much like the Alpha Halo in the first trilogy.
