Obviously I don’t think that they should buff this pistol with it’s current rate of fire, that would break it. Honestly they wouldn’t even need to buff it at all, just keep it as is and bring back the scope or at least aim down the sights a little more like in 5. Or slow it down some and buff it, but I think it definitely needs work.
Advanced warfare was COD trying to be like Halo, Infinite is Halo trying to be more like COD, so I think it’s a fitting metaphor.
I mean the VK47 Commando in Infinite is pulled straight out of COD and given a different name lol.
I’ve actually been playing quite well. I go most 4 v 4 slayer games with around 12 kills and 3 deaths on average. So I’m not angry because I’m not playing well, I’m angry because it doesn’t feel like Halo to me.
I’m 30 years old, I’ve been playing Halo since 2001 when I was 10. So I’ve been playing Halo for 20 years, about as long as many of the people in this forum have been alive. So when I say, for the first time in 20 years of playing these games, that this Halo doesn’t feel like Halo to me I think that means a little more than “im just annoyed because infinite is not my Halo”.
I think Reach had the best multiplayer in terms of keeping it classic but also adding new features, weapons, and maps. Infinite just feels like it is trying too hard to attract non-Halo fans.
Magnum seems pretty balanced compared to past games. 1 and 5 magnum was op. Magnum is all people use in 5 besides power weps. Do people even pull the magnum out in 2 or 3 unless your duel wielding? Even then that is not a go to setup. I can tag someone up with the AR and if I cant finish them I can pull out the magnum for a quick finish. Pretty sure 2 and 3 wasn’t like that. Also if I cant find a BR or other power wep I feel okay with running with the magnum. Still have to work pretty hard for a kill but I didn’t feel confident in 2 or 3 running with just a magnum.
I agree, it’s better than it was in 2 and 3, but you could duel wield pistols in 2 and 3 so there is that. Plus I HATED the pistols in 2 and 3 so saying it’s better than those isn’t saying much. Honestly I think it’s more of a lack of nostalgia and the “Halo feel” because when I think about Halo one of the first things that comes to mind is the scoped pistol with the slow rate of fire lol . I love it and I think it sets Halo apart from other FPS games. If they would just bring back the classic pistol skin and add the scope I probably wouldnt be complaining about it honestly. I do think it’s weak but with a scope it would be much better.
Yea I think they wanted to get away from the old school slow speed pistol. To be honest if they had that in this game compared to how all the other weps are setup nobody would use it unless it killed in a few shots. Then we would probably have halo 5 all over again when everyone ran with pistol. Overall I just feel like every gun seems pretty balance when you compare them across the board (Besides the nerfed commando). I feel comfortable picking up most guns in the game and confident I could get a kill with them. Go play halo 5 and I guarantee nobody is running with a BR.
I enjoy the skill ceiling of the pistol, but I’d enjoy it a lot more if an AR halfway across the map didn’t have close to the same results at 1% the effort.
Thats a good point about people running the pistol all of the time in 5. I’ve just noticed that now the pistol is so weak that players are running the AR a lot more which takes less skill to use. Like I said, if they kept the pistol the way it is and just gave it a scope and made it look like the OG pistol I would be happy with it. I also miss some of the other guns like the covenant carbine, the new pulse carbine is trash. The bulldog shotgun is nerfed IMO. And the covenant plasma rifle that has been in every halo game is missing. I think it is missing just too much OG Halo weapons and so that combined with the faster pace makes it feel less like Halo and a little more like COD.
Yea I agree some of these new covenant weps they have are way different than the old school ones. Going to take some time to get used to them. Also agree the bulldog seems nerfed but after I watch some of the pros play and how easy they get kills with these weps I think it comes down to skill gap. (Not saying you or I suck) Just seems like pros are getting kills way easier with these weps than I am but that is probably because the time they have put in to the game. You put an OG shotty in my hands and it doesn’t matter if your a pro or not your getting blasted by it. Now you put the bulldog in my hands and I have to be on my game to land a couple shots…Same with the covenant weps.
Yea if I had to complain about any wep its got to be the AR. If they could do one thing it should be to limit the range on that bad boy. Up close I am fine with the TTK. When I am getting sniped across map with it I have a problem.
I like to think that the insane reload speed the Sidekick has makes up for its weak power. It could be buffed a little, but I don’t want it to become the dominant weapon.
ever since halo 2, halo has had a BR start option. “veto for BRs” was a common thing on og xbox. Something you guys dont understand. BTB has had BR starts since its inception.
Youre trying to justify a massive buff to the AR because you do in fact lack the skill to land the shots to secure a kill.
Only bad kids think the AR is good.
First off, nowhere in my posting did I ever imply that I wanted the AR to remain how it currently is, this topic is about the pistol.
Second, again, nowhere in my post do I defend an AR buff, you’re projecting your own contention onto my posts, please stop trying to make problems where there isn’t one & stop referring to people in a negative way by labelling them as “kids” because they might prefer/defer one thing to another
I’m happy to debate this topic, but not to name-call & assert assumptions.
What do you mean? the sidekick have the fastest Time To Kill just after the stalker rifle, it even kills faster than the commando and is way easier to handle, plus it makes you melee faster, it is really a reliable weapon and not weak at all.
