The Loud Minority?

Where are all the Reach and Halo 4 fans who constantly said the classic arena shooter is dead? Where are the people who said they wouldn’t do away with AA’s and Loadouts? From what we’ve seen so far Halo 5 is moving back into a competitive arena style shooter again. Still have to find out more details on spartan abilities but it looks promising.

Nobody said 343 would split the fan base with classic and new so they just went away with the new. They listened to the loyal fan base and gave us what we wanted. The master chief collection should catch everyone back up to speed with how halo used to be played for the people who weren’t around to remember how great it was.

Where are all those people? Probably waiting for the Master Chief Collection. Must we really start up a new wave of classic vs new threads? Give it a rest. Halo 5 LOOKS like it will head back towards a traditional direction, beyond that we don’t know much else.

Can’t wait for collection, but please do not dig up the past, for it should remain buried (new vs. classic)

We’re still here, we’re just focused on the important topics.

We don’t know just how much of a change this is. Heck, we don’t even know if this is localized to this “arena” gameplay. This looks like an attempt at an “I told you so” thread, but all we’ve seen are ten seconds of gameplay and a couple vague tweets. Personally? I’m waiting for the “competitive” group to find something new to gripe about. Makes for interesting conversations. I enjoy the casual side, but I can see and understand all the points of the competitive side. I’m one of those true hybrid players, but I tend to be more vocal on the forums in defense of casual because we’re not as fired up at anything that isn’t H3.

Besides, who ever said we were the minority? I’m sure 343I understands that it is actually quite the opposite…

Grow up.

Legendary gameplay has just been confirmed. From the looks of it, Game Loadouts from Reach are in. Custom Loadouts could still be in (which I do hope they are).

Yep.

The beauty of this collection is that everyone is happy.

And if Halo 5 MP is more akin to H2’s MP, then I am cool with that also.

Oh come on. Are you really doing this? Forcing what you think is the real difference between one type of Halo fan and another?

Well guess what. I’ve been playing Halo since 1, I dislike the direction they took the franchise with 2 and 3 but was able to fully live the days of the original Halo with ODST and Reach. Only to be smacked in the face once again with 4.

Speaking of the loud minority, they were the people who got the TU for Reach that they all dropped soon after. Leaving the people who liked Reach to wait forever for a TU they will never get.

343i has never listened to me or given me what I want. The MC collection doesn’t appeal to me because only 1/4 of the game is desired by me and I already own the Anniversary edition.

So tell me, am I a “loyal Halo fan” because I’ve been playing the series since the start, or am I a poser because I don’t think Halo 2 was the epitome of the franchise?

Thank god! It’s nice to know that 343I might actually keep some of these kinda thing so that custom game can still be fun. In the end(call me crazy) I hope they bring back armor lock for the sand box with all the other abilities. Why would I want armor lock?

Shhh! The “competitive” players will hear us rejoicing!

Still, that is good news. The MP trailer showed guys running in with MA5Ks(?) and Magnums at the ready, so that looks like it is redundant confirmation to this. There’s one returning feature… how many more?

Also, I actually enjoyed the concept of Armor Lock. It should have been iterated differently, but it was still very effective when used correctly. I only ever used it for vehicle and melee/sword counters. Not one to turtle of for the full duration because, frankly, that’s just dumb xD

Source?

Ill wait until we actually get some solid info…bit it does seem to be moving in a more traditional direction.

Which isnt a bad thing

I have to agree with this post here. I started with H3 when I got my free Xbox for college back in 2011. I’ve picked up almost every Halo game except for 2 since then and I’ve found ways to enjoy all of the games, Reach and H4 included. People like the series for different reasons, you can’t force people to believe one game is better than the other.

First of all, 343i has told us very little about what they are planning to do. We’ve gotten just enough information to fuel mountains of wild speculations, and get everyone worked into a frenzy.

Secondly, it’s unlikely that anything is set in stone. 343i could decide to change any number of things later on: anyone remember the Gamasutra article where Josh Holmes said that they created a traditional build for Halo 4, which focus tested quite well, and then decided to scrap it? Link

It’s a bit too early to draw conclusions, one way or the other. I would suggest stepping back and waiting for 343i to prove themselves.

I agree.
This looks more like a " Told you so" remark than anything.
Anyhow, it is way TOO EARLY to draw any conclusions and this CAN ALWAYS CHANGE…
It looks like it is VEERING towards the classic side, this doesn’t mean it is stuck like that forever.

I can’t wait to obliterate the bajeezus out of those who love Halo 4 and say it’s skilled in Halo 2… hehehe >:D

For now, we wait and speculate. This is probably exactly what 343I wants us to do xD

To put it simply 343i will be -Yoink!- if they or -Yoink!- if they don’t at this point. I’m sure in Holiday 2015 people will be saying how Halo 5 is the worst and how much better Halo 4 was. It was the same thing with Reach, the same thing with 3, and 2.
You can please most people some of the time or you can please some people most of the time, but you can’t please everyone every time. Can’t remember who actually said this but this is not an original quote from me, but I’m pretty sure I butchered the original lol.

Overall guys, I feel that we have a lot less to worry about as compared to pre H4 launch.

It looks like they listened to us and are implementing things that should make both sides pretty happy.

Will it be the perfect balance for everyone? Not likely, but its getting there.

Legendary gameplay is the “Arena Multiplayer” part. A 343i employee said that Arena Multiplayer means equal starts (basically, Legendary).

Game Loadouts from Reach are probably in because you can see a few Spartans running around with Assault Rifles, and other Spartans running around with MA5Ks. More than likely this means, say you’re playing AR Slayer, then two Game Loadouts pop up. One choice being the AR, and the other choice being MA5K.
